Thank you for looking at our 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. This car is a deep red with a black cloth inside, all power, with 49K miles. This is a one owner car. We bought it from the family of the estate. The people that bought this car new 47 years ago used it as an extra special car in Canton, OH. Then they went to Florida for the winter, parked it in the garage, and didn't drive it till the next year. They stopped driving it 15 years ago and it was sitting in a garage, just driven around the block a few times a year and gassed up from the people I bought it from. The original owner just passed away at 98 years old. It's unbelievable to purchase a car with a one family history that actually took care of it because they wanted it to last the rest of their lives, and it did.
The car starts easily and drives nicely. I'm going to go through the options and tell you what works and doesn't, since I'm sure the new owner would like to know. Automatic transmission works fine. One high beam light is burned out. Driver's power seat works perfect. The tilt and telescopic wheel work fine. The cruise control I never tried. The power windows all work perfect. All glass on the car is 100%. AM/FM radio works, but not loud. The antenna for the radio is built into the front windshield. Heat and air conditioning work. I had the air conditioning charged, and it was working, but comes out the bottom and the top, not the vents. The mechanic told me the name of the part that was bad. I forgot what it was called but its inexpensive. I also had brakes done along with a master cylinder.
The battery on the car is old but it starts the car perfect. There's no smoking, and I see no leaking. For the last 15 years this car was kept in a garage with heat and dehumidifier. The chrome in the front and the back couldn't be any nicer. The paint on the car is 100% original, has a few brush touches small crease in pass door but all original paint from 1972. It looks real nice in the pictures, but please do not expect a perfect car. Tires are four ply and old, but they drive nicely. In the trunk, the spare is in there with the jack, all original. The interior of this car is 100% perfect. The body of the car is all original, as I said earlier. The underneath of the car, outside of the some flacking from sitting around, is 100% solid and clean. The side the air runs there is some rust below the molding, not seen in the pictures, and this is normal on all old cadillacs, because the water from the air condition runs down there. This is a 10 inch spot below the front right fender molding, The motor compartment is all original paint, The valve cover paint that is original.
I hope I'm not missing anything, but you can contact me with any questions at 216-598-7011 (Stan). If you're looking for a clean, old Cadillac that's 100% original from bumper to bumper, one owner, with 49K actual miles that's been babied since Day One, this car would definitely be right for you. I also want to say that I have the owner's manuals for this car in plastic on my desk at work, and they look like they've never been opened. The manuals are like new. If you can stop by and check this car out, I'm think you'll be impressed.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS!
