The first Eldorado startled the public with its $7750 price tag but 532 buyers drove one home. Sales increased dramatically in the following two years proving Cadillac had hit on just the right combination of style and exclusivity in a premium-priced automobile. Cadillac expanded the Eldorado line in 1956 to include the Seville Coupe and the Biarritz Convertible both also designed by Earl and powered by an exclusive dual-carbureted 365 CI V-8. Earl penned an even more beautiful and sporty design for 1957 with cleaner surfaces and the distinctive rear-end treatment that highlights this imposing and beautiful Gold Package example that comes complete with the original matching-numbers 365/325 HP V-8 with dual inline carburetors. Freshly refinished in sharp burgundy paint this 1957 Biarritz features a black vinyl soft top and matching black leather interior its freshly polished stainless-steel and chrome exterior trim dramatically complemented with gold Sabre wheels matching gold front grille insert and “Biarritz” front fender script. New Coker wide whitewall tires maintain the period look.
