Description

1940 Cadillac Series Sixty Special Town Car. This is a very rare car and was the last year for the side mounted spares. This Very Formal car had a removable roof section over the front seat and a glass division window between the driver and the rear passengers. Of the Sixty Specials built in 1940, 2442 of them were Touring Models. There were 113 Imperials and lastly only 15 Town Car models. Of the 15 built, 9 had the painted metal roof, and 6 were the leather covered roof version. This is one of the 9 that had the painted roof. This is a very complete, solid, no rust car. The only thing I have found missing is the lower chrome on either side below the doors, which can be salvaged from another "regular" 1940 Series Sixty Cadillac. Floors have been professionally replaced as well as the trunk area and look original. I have many parts for the car including an extra dash. All new rubber from Steele Rubber Products still in the packages from the factory. Engine turns over, but I have not tried to start the car. As you can see the car needs to be restored, but has been in dry, climate controlled garage for years. It is time for it to go to a new owner who will restore and enjoy the car. A FEW MORE PICS ADDED OF ENGINE AND UNDERNEATH OF CAR. Please ask any questions you may have and thanks so much for looking.
