NO RESERVE - 1962 Caddy Coupe, Driver, Not Hot Rod 1973 Eldorado Convertible
Description
1962 Cadillac Coupe Deville With NO RESERVE
69k original miles, 390 V8. Options include power windows, power steering, power brakes, power bench seat. Service records going back many years are in the glove box, including an invoice for a transmission rebuild.
Mechanical: since I've had the Caddy I've only done a few things to get it roadworthy, including new radial tires, entire brake system gone through, tuneup, etc. The previous owner had the transmission rebuilt and balanced the driveshaft at the same time. Other mechanical work in the past 15 years includes an entirely new front end: everything from ball joints, tie rods, springs, shocks, all bushings, etc; the Caddy drives arrow straight and handles like new. All rebuilt or replaced components used NOS parts whenever possible. The power windows all work but when they want to, at the very least the switches need replaced, I will include new window switches. She's a dependable driver as is, I was planning to do a rat rod style Caddy before finances intruded. The rear has a tow hitch with the wiring plug for a trailer.
Cosmetic: the Caddy had an interior restoration done about 20 years ago which is showing its age. The original AM radio still works through the dash and rear speakers as does the power antenna. The paint on the car is original and poor and the chrome is dull. There are spots of old bodywork which will have to be redone. If restoration is what youhavein mind she will need a driver's front fender, a trunk lid and possibly a hood. I was going to have it repaired with sheet metal and do a satin black finish. I was even considering removing the roof and making a parade convertible, I've done it before with a 61 Caddy and it's pretty easy with the lines of the car and looked great. The floors in the rear passenger footwell are soft, trunk and frame are solid.
It starts up easily and idles smoothly once it's warm. Cruises on the highway and holds the road, the 325 HP 390 V8 moves the car easily. It brakes evenly, no pulling or fading, shifts properly and handles ok for a such a huge, nearly 60 year old car.
I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well.I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates.
Nice Caddy which can be driven as is or candidate for restoration or kustom car. Any questions feel free toemailor call 914-two two four-3230

The red '73 Eldorado Convertible in the photos is unique. I bought it from the wife of the longtime owner, she had let it sit for about a year and didn't know much about the car. When I went to look at it I noticed the engine was not stock. When I pointed out the " PerformanceUnlimited.com" markings on the valve covers she did recall that the engine was modified and told me it had spent a few weeks in a "hot rod shop". I'm not sure about the internals as there's nodocumentationbut this is easily the fastest old Caddy I've ever had, it's got a high rise intake and feels like it's got a mild cam. It's cool to feel such a huge luxury cruiser launch like a musclecar. The top is fairly new and the leather close to perfect. The body needs work in spots but the floors and trunk are solid.
