From a time when Cadillac was known as the Standard of the World, the year the United States put men on the moon and the world stood on the precipice of the 1970s, this is one of 16,445 Coupe de Ville Convertibles made in 1969.
Manufactured at General Motors' Detroit, Michigan facility.
Currently dressed in white, the car's print and trim are in overall very good order, its bodywork is straight and solid, the car's chrome bumpers are in very good order and the engine bay is freshly painted.
This Coupe de Ville has whitewall tires, size P235/75R15 with less than a 500 miles on them. Each tire is mounted on a steel wheel topped by a factory wheel cover. The tires and wheel covers are all in satisfactory order.
Under the hood is Cadillac's 472 CID V-8 engine freshly rebuilt with less than 500 miles on the rebuild, backed by a Turbo Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 2.94:1 rear end.
Inside, the red interior is newly recovered. The red, two-way power front, split-bench seat with fold-down center armrest was recently covered and is in new condition. The corresponding red carpet is in similar order. A factory, three-speed steering wheel faces the driver while the instrument panel. The inner door panels in good shape in the front and I have purchased back panels that are in better shape and ready for paint (included panels and paint #s). An AM/FM stereo with aftermarket speakers and an auxiliary plug complete the interior.
In 1969 DeVille was restyled in the Eldorado image. An Eldorado-like front fender treatment evolved and helped to emphasize a stronger horizontal design line. Rear quarters were extended to give the car a longer look. There was an all-new grille with dual horizontal headlamps positioned in the outboard step-down areas of the grille. The hood was again extended, a total of 2.5 inches to add the impression of extra length. The roofline was squarer and the rear deck and bumper more sculptured. A new ventilation system eliminated the need for vent windows, which provided a longer sleeker look and improved visibility. New standard features included front and rear (except on convertibles) center seat armrests. New windshield wiper motor being installed. Drive and feel the late 60s with the best ride money can buy!
