‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is pleased to offer you this absolutely beautiful 1978 Cadillac Seville Supercharged Custom, finished in its factory original shade of (Code 11) Cotillion White wrapped around its factory original (Code 602) Antique Saddle Leather interior. This ’78 Seville has only seen two owners since day one, and the second owner, who is a life-long mechanic, has owned the car for the last 30 years. To say that this car has been babied would be a... gross understatement, as it has been meticulously cared for since day one. 1978 would represent the high point for sales & production of the first generation (1977-1979) Cadillac Seville, and the Seville had a great reputation for being a very high-quality motorcar, even by Cadillac standards. 1978 was the second model year of the downsized Cadillacs, and they were received extremely well by customers. In fact, Cadillac set a new sales record for the third year in a row, and beat its 1977 sales by 6%, which was somewhat surprising given the rather hefty price increases. The 1978 Cadillac Seville is an excellent collector car, due to their high build quality, standard features that make them comparable to even today's luxury cars, and the availability of parts. This gorgeous example has seen lots of important upgrades that greatly enhance both drive-ability & overall performance, and she has never been wrecked or damaged in any way over her lifetime. She was cosmetically restored about 10 years ago, which included the one & only repaint in factory correct Cotillion White. The paint has been polished & buffed to a mirror-like shine throughout, and looks absolutely beautiful. All of the chrome, stainless steel & gold trim is original and in excellent condition. A new white vinyl top was installed at the time of the repaint, which is in beautiful condition w/ no cracks or blemishes whatsoever, and all new weather-stripping was applied everywhere on the car, including the trunk & the sunroof. She sits on beautiful 15” Prestige Honeycomb wheels wrapped w/ Vogue Tyre Wide Trac Touring Custom Built Radial VII tires (215/70/R15). There is 20-feet of blue LED neon lighting under the car, as well as under the hood, for those late-afternoon or night time car events. Flip the switch and you get a beautiful blue aura all around the car, which looks sensational. There were lots of upgrades done underneath to improve handling, drive-ability & stopping power. Features include: 4-wheel disc brakes w/ pinned & drilled rotors by VPD (Vette Brothers Products), EBS performance brake pads, new custom balanced drive shaft, new U joints, custom transmission cross member w/ harmonic dampener, thermostat-controlled transmission cooler w/ weight dampener, new transverse fiberglass leaf springs up front (full floating) w/ new Carrera shocks, new leaf springs in back w/ new Carrera shocks, tubular lower control arms w/ poly bushings, welded & powder-coated subframe, 1 ¼” front sway bar w/ poly bushings & end links, 1 1/8” rear sway bar, new subframe bushings, new upper control arm bushings, new ball joints, new factory Level-Ride system, and a custom Flowmaster exhaust system from the manifolds back, done by Ray Flugger in Santa Rosa, CA. These upgrades are excellent improvements on a car that already drove beautifully to begin with.Open the driver’s door and you will find a supple Antique Saddle Leather interior that has been beautifully restored & looks outstanding. The factory interior was originally a 60/40 leather interior, but it now features 100% European leather from nine matched hides including the head rests, door panels, dash, headliner, steering wheel, & seat belt covers. Of course, all new carpeting was added to complete the restoration. Modern upgrades were done to the interior as well, including: Dynamat sound deadening throughout, new speedometer w/ printed circuit board that goes up to 170 mph (the factory speedometer only went to 85 mph), digital tachometer & clock (in the factory clock location), Holley adjustable fuel-injection controls (inside the ashtray compartment), along w/ a knock-sensor, and Pyrometer exhaust temperature gauge (also inside the ash-tray compartment), Clarion 5670CD AM/FM/CD receiver, and (4) speakers (two Alpine 6x9 in rear deck & two new factory style speakers in dash). This beautiful leather interior is extremely comfortable & highly functional in every way. All of the gauges, headlights, interior lights, turn-signals, fiber-optic hood-mounted turn-signals, etc. are in perfect working condition, and the factory Auto-Temperature Control system blows ice cold! The trunk area was restored in matching carpeting w/ spare wheel (matching Prestige Honeycomb wheel), spare tire & jack assembly. The electric trunk pull-down works beautifully, which was a pretty cool feature for 1978.Powering this beautiful '78 Seville is the original 350ci Olds Fuel-Injected Supercharged motor bored .030 over, featuring a Vortech V1 Supercharger w/ straight cut gears & pressurized oil bearings, Holley Pro-Jection fuel-injection system, custom Jans supercharged pistons, Mellings high volume oil pump, true roller timing chain & gear set, TRW Clevite bearings, Joe Mondello camshaft, SS valves, hardened seats, new guides, new rocker assembly, fluid dampener, heavy flex-plate (balanced w/ motor), custom March aluminum pulley set, V-belt poly-ribbed for supercharger, custom undersized supercharger pulley, custom hydraulic motor mounts, brass freeze plugs, aluminum intake manifold, custom supplemental dual-injectors, Shelby 100psi water injection fogger system, heated base-plate under throttle body, Mallory Unilite distributor, MSD 8mm spiral core plug wires, Delco Remy high volume fuel pump, all new fuel lines, and on & on! The motor is linked to a 700R4 automatic transmission, which feeds power to the original 8.5” 10-bolt rear-end w/ all new bearings & seals and 3.73 gears. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully in every way! There is only 1,100 miles on the car since the engine/transmission work was done, so everything is quite fresh indeed. I was completely blown away by how nice & smooth this Seville drives, w/ absolutely no rattles, no vibrations, and no unwanted noises whatsoever. On the road she feels like a brand-new Cadillac, and did I mention that she is quick? You will be pleasantly surprised when you apply your right foot down firmly to the floor and you start to hear that Vortech supercharger whine.Again, I can’t stress how nice this car drives! Whether you are cruising around town or getting out on the highway for the long haul, this Seville will make the trip extremely pleasurable. If you have been searching for a vintage Cadillac, one that looks outstanding in every way, but also can be driven & enjoyed to the fullest w/out worrying about reliability, this beautiful 1978 Cadillac Seville Supercharged Custom is the car for you!
