Back in the day these large Cadillacs were the epitome of American luxury. These were the last years a Cadillac would ever be this large because during this era, the import luxury market started to rise and if Cadillac wanted to be a world leader it would have to soon shrink its design and cubic inches to compete. But during its last years on the market, there was nothing larger you could drive to symbolize your success other than a Cadillac. Massive size, crisp edges, and mammoth cubic inches, you were somebody when you arrived in a Cadillac. This particular car was rescued from a barn out in PA in September of this year. The car was purchased by the second owner in 2002 and stored amongst other cars of its like since then. Please read on and view the many photos and videos I've included to help you make your decision on purchasing this beautiful classic.
Exterior:
The exterior of this car appears to be mostly original with some touch ups over the year. It is very solid and very straight and from 10 feet it's beautiful. Once up close you can see the touch ups, lacquer cracks and chips. As a driver its great, but as a show car, it would need to be painted. Added during its life are the massive rolls royce grill and the Boss Hog chrome accent on the side pillars. The car is amazingly solid and underneath is amazing. Just freshened up, but the car was originally undercoated which has preserved its solid state. The chrome is excellent as is its brighwork for being original. All the glass is perfect along with its lights and marker lights. The rear fillers were brittle and just falling apart when touched, so I replaced them with an aftermarket fiberglass set. Please review the photos and let me know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
If I ever had to call a 45 year old interior to be in mint condition, this would be it. I have never seen an interior like this on a Cadillac other than in brochures, but is has been preserved in such a way that it looks simply brand new for its age. The original factory plastic is still intact on 3 of the side services. The last time I saw that plastic was at my grandmom's house when I was a kid. I checked the commonly used electronics and everything seemed to work. The radio's antenna operates but not to its full potential. The climate control works but needs to be tinkered with since the blower turns on when pushed to defrost. The STEERING WHEEL is just about in mint condition and is very rare for these cars. That's an indicative sign that this car wasn't abused. Please look at the pics and video, love or hate the design you have to respect the condition. Any questions let me know.
Drive-Train:
500 cubic inches!!!!!! My word, what a massive motor. Once car was pulled from storage, I emptied gas from tank and installed new plugs and she ran quite nicely. I checked the brakes and went through basics to make it road worthy. It runs great for not being on the road in over 16 years but will need minor tinkering to make her sing even more. The tires have decent tread and seem to have no dry rot, but wouldn't make any long trip on them. Overall an excellent, well kept drivetrain that was freshly detailed. The exhaust is old yet quiet, but would replace if you're going to drive daily. Any questions please let me know, the video I included shows the car running and driving.
Payment and bidding:
DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY.
The last car that someone bid on was an old guy's 40 year old son that had no intentions on buying. If you bid within the last 12 hours of the auction realize that your bid is not retractable and I can't cancel it. You bid, be an honest person and honor your bid. This is a no reserve auction!! High Bid will sell.
Payment: I require a $1000 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of end of auction by paypal. The balance by certified funds with in 7 days. Car will be available for pick up or shipping(arranged by buyer) once all funds have cleared. If you cannot abide by these guidelines I would kindly ask you not to bid.
I hope I've been clear, you are bidding on a running, driving, 45 year old driver that presents well in this ad and in person. Please ask any and all questions you like. I am here to help!!
