1949 Cadillac Convertible
Description
This is one of the finest 1949 Cadillac convertibles you will ever see. It has received an extensive nut and bolt frame off restoration with no expense spared. The build began with an excellent convertible, not a junk yard car or a patched up cruiser but a very nice original local show quality car. As you can see from the pictures the car was completely disassembled where every piece could be perfected. We have hundreds of photos of the restoration from start to finish. The original chassis has been sub-framed with a torsion bar front suspension from a Buick Fifth Avenue for a better ride quality and also allows the car to now have power steering and power disc brakes. The rear suspension is made up of custom leaf springs with adjustable air shocks that can be controlled from in the car. The new drive train came completely ready to drop in from Street & Performance and consist of a new LT4 fuel injected 5.7L V8 with aluminum heads and all the chrome and polish goodies from Street & Performance and a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission. The rear axle was upgraded to a 9" Ford posi with a 3.50 gear ratio. The body on the car is laser straight and covered in show quality red paint, perfect fit and finish all over. All chrome and stainless have been refinished and polished to new and all glass and weather stripping have been replaced with new also. The custom interior has been finished in a beautiful beige leather with power bucket seats, power windows, Vintage air conditioning and heat, Dakota digital dash, Pioneer stereo, tilt wheel and cruise control. All new wiring harness provided by Ron Frances. The new cloth top is also power. The Cadillac sits on a set of Boyd custom wheels wrapped in new wide white radials. This car drives like a dream on the road, very smooth and sound and is turn key ready. Everything works like it should and is ready for the next show or cross country trip.
