Beginning in 1979, the Ninth Generation of Cadillac Eldorado was introduced and carried through the 1985 model year. It was a smaller, slimmer vehicle with several drivetrain variants used along the way in an effort to meet stricter Federal emission and fuel economy requirements from year to year. To help maintain interior and trunk space, Cadillac introduced an independent rear suspension system. They shared the same E-body chassis platform as the Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado with front-wheel-drive. The final iteration of the drivetrain for the 1984-85 Eldorados was a 4.1L HT 4100 V8 engine with a 4-speed overdrive automatic.

We are delighted to offer this wonderfully kept, two-owner 1985 Cadillac Eldorado finished in Medium Gray Metallic over Gray Leather interior. its original HT 4.1L Digital Fuel Injection V8 and 4-speed transmission with electronic overdrive, it remains completely accident free, without any post-factory paintwork or restoration. Features include power windows & door locks, power adjustable front seats, automatic leveling Touring suspension, electronic trunk release & pull down, Delco/GM/Bose Symphony Sound AM/FM/Cassette/EQ radio with power antenna, on-board computer, power disc brakes, power steering, electronic climate control air conditioning, rear window defogger, cruise control, tilt/telescopic steering column, anti-theft system, Twilight Sentinel lighting, remote adjustable mirrors, wire wheel covers, removable trash receptacle, and carpeted floor mats. The trunk features the original spare saver spare with cover, tire changing tools, and factory floor mat.

Our example sold new from Moore Cadillac-Jaguar-Pontiac based here in St. Louis, MO with just 21 miles on May 31st, 1985 already fitted with a “Roadster” cabriolet top professionally installed by Midwest Auto Top. It was driven only 18,235 miles before trading hands to its only other owner in July 1990. Having always been garage kept since new, this example remains wonderfully rust free and in remarkable overall condition. We elected to leave the Audiovox mobile phone in place as a unique accessory of days long past by. It will come complete with all original ownership documentation and manuals, clean Carfax report, as well as original Cadillac gold key set. Recently, a new battery was installed, the oil/filter changed, and the a/c was serviced. It had already been retrofitted to R134a in 2002. We feel this future collectible is as nice as they come, and should prove to be a long-lasting vehicle you should enjoy driving showing in Cadillac events proudly.
