1985 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible

When it comes to Collector Cars from the 80’s, only a handful come to mind, mostly from the performance end of the spectrum. The Eldorado was Cadillac's Crown Jewel, and once you sit in this car you will understand why. This car was built when Cadillac was still the “Standard of the World, and was truly built with luxury in mind. This Cadillac is a rising collectible from the 80’s that still has a relatively affordable price, especially when compared to other collector cars from to 80’s. Cadillac changed to style and size of the Eldorado in 1979 and continued to produce the car thru 1985, with the ‘85 model year being the last and best year for these Eldorados, and with this being the last year of the Convertibles, this car was built with luxury in mind and this jewel is fully loaded. Cadillac produced the convertible exclusively in 1984 & 1985 and produced roughly a total of 3500 cars. Most of these cars have led a very pampered life. If you want to enjoy true open aired grand touring on a budget, there are not many car that can do better than this 85 Eldorado. Get noticed in a way that only a few cars can pull off. The Biarritz Convertible was a classic from the day it left the factory, and looks like a car that cost thousands of dollars more. The Eldorado Biarritz Convertible is a solid investment in today's collectible car market. If you want a fun ride that is going to appreciate daily, this convertible is a great choice. The 1985 model was the last year for a body-style that, even though slightly smaller than some of its predecessors, looked very much Cadillac. It came in two models - coupe and convertible. Actually, Cadillac contracted ASC/Mclaren to convert 2,300 coupes into convertibles. ASC had done many similar projects for GM (such as the Buick GNX) and once again proved they were up to the task. In addition to replacing the hardtop, the conversion included: sub-frame additions, HD 'touring suspension', trans cooler, and HD oil cooler. These convertibles are mechanically sound. This Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible is a top-of-the-line model with all of the luxury appointments. Cadillac wire-wheel hubcaps provide a great accent. This Biarritz has all of the convenience features you will ever desire including: air conditioning, power top, power seats and locks, AM/FM stereo, power windows, tilt wheel and cruise control. The convertible is powered by Cadillac's 4.1L V8 that produces 135 BHP and 200 lb/ft torque. This engine utilizes digital fuel injection and delivers power through a THM325-4L four-speed/OD automatic and FWD transaxle with 3.15:1 gearing. It is also equipped with power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.

All Cadillac Eldorados of this generation had well-equipped interiors, with plush leather seats, climate control, and more. The long hood / short deck proportions are quite different from the more iconic Eldorados of the 1950s and 1960s, but the look has actually aged quite well, and these cars are beginning to see a level of interest they haven’t seen since they were new cars.

We found this particular car in the estate of a car collector from the Central Coast of California. This car was initially purchased as a personal car to enjoy and refresh over time, but we another car we had been working on purchasing for many years finally became available (1968 280SL) and we now need to room as we can't keep both cars. This is a car that we believe is a very safe investment and will continue to deliver smiles for years to come.
