1981 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z-28, CHEVY, RUST FREE, STRAIGHT, CLEAN, REAL Z-28!!
Description
You are looking at a 1981 Camaro Z-28. This is a real Z-28, not a clone, it says Z-28 on the cowl tag. This is a straight, rust free second generation Camaro which is very hard to find. It has a re-built 4 bolt main 327 small block Chevy, with steel crank, pink rods, double hump 2.02 cylinder heads, Lunati camshaft, double roller timing chain, Melling high volume oil pump, Weiand Team G intake manifold, Holley 750 double pumper carb, K&N air cleaner, GM aluminum valve covers, Milodon 7 quart oil pan, billet timing chain cover, SFI flexplate, SFI balancer, Hooker Super comp headers, full 3" exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and turn downs, right before rear axle. The transmission is a fully built Turbo 350 with a 2800 RPM stall converter, aluminum deep sump pan, and a reverse manual valve body with a trans brake. It has a B&M Quicksilver shifter in the console, and the trans shifts perfect, firm and on point. It has a sumped gas tank, with Holley electric fuel pump and filter, and braided -8 fuel lines from the tank to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, then 2 lines to the carb. There is an Autometer mechanical fuel pressure gauge on the hood. It also has a new aluminum radiator, and a flex fan. The rear end was re-done with a posi carrier, and Richmond 4.11 gears. It still has the original Z-28 rear sway bar also. The car has power steering, and power brakes, with front disc brakes, and rear drums. It has a new alternator, and a high torque gear reduction starter. The battery was properly re-located to the trunk. The factory heater box was removed as well, it has no heat or blower motor. The wiper motor was also removed, and the speedometer cable is not hooked up, I'm not sure why. Everything else works, all lights, turn signals, brake lights, etc all work as they should. I just replaced the steering box and all power steering hoses, and I had a front end alignment done. It has Weld Draglite 15" wheels, with 3" skinny's in the front, and Mickey Tompson 275 drag radials in the back.
The best part of this car is the body. The floor pans, quarters, rockers, trunk pan, are all rust and rot free. The body is straight, doors open and close very well, gaps are nice. NO T-tops or sunroof to leak and cause issues!!! The car was professionally re-painted 2 years ago, and looks excellent, shines like new, looks great! It has a nice fiberglass cowl induction hood, which looks awesome. The interior is original and in very nice shape for the year. The carpets and the headliner were replaced last year and look great. The seats are nice, but not perfect, see the pics. It is very presentable, no smell, was not smoked in. The car is in great shape, but is a 36 year old hot rod, be reasonable in your expectations. The car runs and drives really well. The motor has a big cam, and it sounds real nasty with the 3" Flowmasters. It is a beast! The motor sounds awesome, and has excellent oil pressure. It does not run hot. It fires right up every time. It has a clean NY title, with no liens. If you are looking for a turn-key second gen Z-28, check this one out. They are hard to find as rust free as this one is. If you want to see the car, I'd be happy to show it, e mail me and we will set it up. Please check my perfect feedback, and bid with confidence.
