Description

1984 Chevrolet K10 Short Boxwith a 3/4 ton conversion. Corporate 14 bolt rear end with matching front axle. Axles were completely gone through and replaced all bearings, seals, brakes, brake lines, new Warn hubs in the front. Custom drive line built. Vehicle was bought new by my father with a 305ci. My father put 200,000 miles on the truck before removing the engine to put in new Good Wrench 350 crate motor. I inherited the truck with the motor out of it and completely stock with the exception of the 4" pocket flares that are currently on it. The flares need replacing as they are sun baked and cracked.Once I inherited it I began to build the truck as I always wanted to see it. I hated the fact that the axles looked funny with the front wheels and tires sitting flush with the flares but the rear axle sat in 3" inside the flares. I had a shop locally install the new crate motor and put in a mild cam. We mated the new motor with the stock 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive. Kept the original 4WD transfer case. Has headers and brand new dual exhaust. After much research I decided to do the 3/4 ton conversion to eliminate the issue with the front and rear axles not sitting flush with the pocket flares. Once installed I had another local shop install a 4" Tuff Country EZ Ride Leaf spring Lift kit (NOT a block lift) Has heavy duty shocks and mechanically the truck is brand new. The exterior is original paint (fading) but the body is in fairly good condition. Minor cosmetic issues here and there but looks amazing. There is a small hole near the drivers door lock where someone broke in to the truck by popping the lock when I was 8. The interior is rough as the only thing I have done in there was replacing the dash. I also have all of the new trim that is faded and runs along the side of the truck that will go with the truck. I have over 15K invested in this truck over the last 12 years and these trucks are becoming harder and harder to find. Has Fuel wheels 20x12 that I had a customtintput on to match the color of the truck and those wheels have a set of 37x1350x20 Toyo Open Country M/T. With some cosmetic upgrades to the interior and exterior this will be one great bulletproof truck. Like I said this truck is mechanically brand new and with the patina looks great. Things that I was going to do before I decided to start on a new project was to replace the steering gear box and tune the new Edlebrock carburetor as it is running a little rich.
