Up for sale is my very original '67 Camaro. This two family car was bought new in Sacramento California and stayed with its first owner until 1980, when it was passed on to his nephew. The nephew used the car sparingly over the next 36 years, keeping it maintained as needed, but just not using it that much. The result is a car that has stayed true to its roots, never modified, and pretty much exactly the way it rolled off the Los Angeles assembly line 50 years ago.
The car has had one repaint in its original color of Marina Blue. The paint is now about 30 years old and could actually be mistaken for original. The finish is in good shape with no checking or hazing, and the prep and application were done pretty well, the car is very presentable. That said, you'll find a fair amount of little chips and scrapes and imperfections scattered about. In my view this all adds to the "survivor car" vibe that this Camaro has. Not perfect, but not intended to be. This is a car that tells a story, and part of that story is about how you really don't find original Camaros like this anymore.
The body on this Camaro is remarkably straight with no dents or dings. But above all, this is an extremely solid car, with all original body panels with no known rust or repairs. Both bumpers are original and unrestored. The chrome still looks great. Clean and straight grill. Panel fit is very good throughout the car. All of the car's glass is original except for the windshield, it's a quality replacement in good shape with no damage.
All lights and signals are working, every last bulb. All of the stainless window surrounds are in nice original condition. Rear window shows NO trace of rust issues at the corners. Parcel shelf below is in good shape, but the rear seat tops do show some minor sun damage All of the car's weather stripping and seals are original (except trunk seal). Trunk carries a matching spare and factory jacking equipment.
This car was optioned with the Deluxe Interior and rare Strato-Bench seat with armrest. When you open the door it's like stepping back in time, everything here is just very well preserved. It appears that the carpet has been replaced, otherwise everything else is original. All gauges and controls are functioning correctly, along with every last switch and every last bulb. Heater and fan work correctly, as well as the lights, wipers, horn - even the radio is crystal clear. This is a car has never been messed with. This car was also optioned with the very rare fold-down rear seat. Headliner is original and in great condition.
The 327 starts right up and runs strong with no smoke and no issues, I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The transmission shifts perfectly, the rear end is quiet, and the car was optioned with rare power brakes along with power steering. The engine has never been out of the car but was recently cleaned up and lightly detailed. The undercarriage reveals original floor pans and sills in super condition with no rust. Exhaust system has recently been replaced with factory style transvers muffler (not pictured).
