Description

For sale is my 1963 Chevrolet Belair. This Belair was originally sold by Ayers Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Dover, NJ.The car was sold on July 22nd, 1963 to Ms. Winters.I’ve owned it for the past the four years, during which I’ve kept it in my garage.I’m the 4th owner of the Belair. It’s a four-door that was originally equipped with an inline 6 and a manual transmission. The Belair came from the factory as a low budget car: manual windows, manual brakes, manual steering, and radio delete. The Belair was originally white, but at some point, it was painted satin black. It retains the original red interior. The previous owner told me the glass is all original, which is in great shape.

At some point, someone replaced the I-6 with a Chevy 305 and backed it up with a TH350.The engine is equipped with roller rockers, Edelbrock intake, 600 Holley carb, and Hooker Headers. The person I bought it off of indicated the engine and trans had been recently rebuilt (before I bought it), but I don’t have any paperwork for the rebuilds. It still has the column shifter, but a B & M ratchet shifter was installed. The engine runs and sounds great. The transmission shifts properly. The engine and trans don’t have any major leaks. The issue with the transmission is that the dipstick was never secured to the bell housing so it can move around. If it moves too much, it will leak from the where the dipstick enters the transmission.

The Belair has BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s installed. The front tires are P205/70R14, and the rear tires are P245/60R14.All of the tires have decent tread depth. The suspension is tight, and the car has a nice ride.

The interior is in great shape. There are no odd odors and no tears to the seats. The springs under the driver’s side of the bench seat do have some sag to them. All of the electrical items function properly. An aftermarket tach and gauges were installed on the lower part of the dash.

The chrome bumpers and trim show nicely. The body is straight, but it does have some minor rust (see the pictures). The previous owner preferred the Impala look, so he added the 3rd set of lights to the rear.He also installed the gray Impala panels on the trunk lid.I prefer the Belair look, so I removed the Impala panels, but I still have them.

The Belair has a clear tag/title and is registered in Delaware until June 2018.You could use this as a daily driver or keep it as a weekend car.

While this might not be a well-documented car, I do have the original sales receipt, owner’s manual, and sales brochure. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

It is sold as-is with no warranty.I would consider the Belair to be in good shape, but my opinion may differ from yours.I recommend you see the car in person and form your opinion.I live in northern Delaware, and I’m close to DE 141, I-95, I-295, and I-495. The buyer is responsible for shipping. I'll accept cash or certified check.
