Description
Here we have a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer for your bidding consideration. I will do my best to describe this truck. I will include everything I would want to know if I were bidding to own this vehicle. Please don't bid on this Blazer unless you are prepared to own it. I am listing this with a low reserve. It might come off faster than you think.I will start off by saying that this is still a one owner truck. It has only been titled one time in it's life. September 8, 1972. The original title and original Bill of sale are both included, along with the original warranty book, and owners manual. There aren't too many 1 owner 1972 Blazer's left out there!!The body is in well above average condition. It's my personal and professional opinion that this Blazer still wears 100% of it's original paint. I cannot find any indication on any panel that there has been anything done. Everywhere there is a chip, there is red oxide primer under neither. no overspray anywhere that it shouldn't be, nothing. All original paint. The tailgate is almost mint, I think I found 4 small dings inside, nothing outside, the rear cargo floor under the carpet strips is clean, no rust, both quarter panels have no rust to be found anywhere, both rocker panels have some dings and dents but no rust inside or out. Rocker boxes and all supports are 100% solid. The passenger door is solid, no rust, the drivers door has some rust at the very bottom rear corner. It can be seen inside and out. Its not horrible but it's there. The drivers side floor is solid but most of the paint is gone and has surface rust and some pitting in areas. There was a rubber floor mat in the truck and it had wore through under the brake pedal so dirt and moisture had accumulated. The only rust through is at the bottom of the kick panel (see picture). It has rusted up a half inch or so. Under the sill plate is solid and all there. The passenger side floorboard and kick panel has no rust through, only surface rust. The drivers side fender is completely rust free, it had some dents up towards the front, I pulled out the inner fender and straightened them out the best I could. It's very usable and doesn't look too bad. The passenger fender is rough. It has rust through in front of the wheel area due to a leaking battery. Also the battery box is rusted. The inner fender looks to be rust free. I took the top off and the windshield frame is 100% solid everywhere, top and bottom, as well as the dash and firewall. Thats it for rust, the drivers kick panel, passenger fender, and a little on the drivers door. Not bad at all. I would say the only panel that needs replaced would be the passenger front fender. It has plenty of dents in it along with the rust. Everything else is all easily fixed. Provided a person even wants to paint this thing. I personally like it just the way it is.It has a single wall top that I replaced every seal in, including the side glass, hatch glass, everything else as well. The hatch has a few cracks but it works and is usable. The truck has factory AC, the belt is still on the compressor and still has some freon in the system. The rear seat has a small crack but is all there besides that. I would say the foam in both front seats is usable, the drivers side seat bottom had upholstery work done at some point. The truck still has the original Softray windshield in it. This Blazer was parked back around 1994, so it's been a work in progress, the original 350 has never been out to the best of my knowledge. I sent off the original quadrajet and had it rebuilt and restored. I also just changed the spark plugs, cap and rotor, battery, all filters, engine oil, all brake fluid throughout the system, and countless light bulbs. The grille and front bumper were pretty beat up so I replaced the grille shell, inner grille, bezels, front bumper, bumper bolts, front park light lens's, all 4 side marker lights, with new parts. I bought the GM licensed higher quality parts. They all fit amazingly well. I was very surprised. Most of my builds I use NOS everything so when aftermarket parts impress me, it's rare. I took 4 original 1972 Rally Wheels out of my stash and had them powder coated, and mounted 4 new BFG All Terrain TA KO 2 tires in 33x12.50x15. They look great!! I also used 4 original clean beauty rings, all new lug nuts, and new center caps. I also replaced the front door arm rests as well.So if a person wanted to drive this truck everyday, It would need the following to start with: Exhaust is number one!! It still wears the original single exhaust that is in terrible shape. most of the tailpipe is gone, it has exhaust leaks, its bad and needs redone first thing. I would say change the rest of the fluids, plug wires, points maybe, throw some carpet in the front and go. The fuel is old in the tank, not 1994 old but it stinks when the truck is running. I added a bottle of Seafoam and 5 gallons of Premium on top of it but it didn't help much. Also the power steering pump is growling. Maybe it will come out of it, maybe not.So here it is, one owner, original paint, mostly original 1972 Blazer. I really wanted to continue onward with this truck but I'm trying to do 2 others already so i'm letting it go. I've owned and restored these trucks for years so if there is anything you want to know or any areas you would like additional info or pictures of feel free to ask. I'm not looking for trades please. And remember, this truck is 45 years old, it has a carburetor, points, it's not been more than around the block and up and down the street in 23 years. It's a project, this is not a 2010 Tahoe so don't expect it to be one. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs. I am more than willing to work with your shipper. I've done it countless times. Thanks for looking.
On Mar-28-17 at 06:03:48 PDT, seller added the following information:A few other things I should mention:I was told that the 86,000 miles that shows on the odometer is original miles. I have no way to prove that other than the word of the people I bought it from. I have no reason to believe otherwise. The original owner passed away so the title comes with a death certificate attached. This truck spent it's entire life in Dubois Wyoming, a very small town up high in elevation. It was purchased new in Laramie Wyoming, you can see the car dealer emblem on the tailgate is still there as well. From what I've gathered, the majority or the miles were put on back in the 1970's. Also, I'll mention, the transmission shifts, forward, reverse work fine, 4wd works great, the heater blower motor seems to work when it wants too, the SPID is still on the inside of the glove box. It looks brand new. I can't figure out how to get more than 24 pictures on my add here. I know people post hundreds sometimes. If you want more I have a ton and can take as many as you want. Send me your phone number and I can text or email you more. Also the truck has a new starter in it, and all new antifreeze. It's hard to see in the picture, but there is a non stock valve cover on the passenger side of the engine, I don't know what the story was there but I have a correct valve cover thats included. Also, all of the original exhaust manifold heat shields are still present, oil filler is there also, the original dipstick, the heat riser tube off of the valve cover also is there still. There was a spare tire mount behind the rear seat from the factory but it's long gone. I'm sure it was removed once the external rear tire carrier came about. Also, the rear bumper is bolted on, not welded so it can be removed with ease for painting or replacement.
