Description

This is a customized 1928 Chevrolet pick-up truck, in excellent condition ( considering the age ) we have replaced all of the rubber ( 1000.00 to Coker) new battery, fluids, cleaned out the gas tank and flushed the entire system. With a little more TLC this baby will be ready to roll.
We have gotten it started, but the vacuum canister and carburetor reallyneed to be re-built ( or re-placed ) in order to keep it running right. I also have not been able to really figure out the advance control ( located on the steering Colom...not sure what it is called...maybe someone can tell me and I will add the right words to my post) which I am told is how you drive these old autos.
I purchased the car a couple of years ago, it had been sitting in a shop on blocks for many years. I was told that it was a 100% original 1928 Pick-Up . With not much investigative work though, come to find out...it actually was a 1928 coup that has been converted into a truck. Even though it's not stock, the conversion was very well done. It's probably one of a kind ( maybe not) but in my opinion much better looking than the original "square" backed '28 truck.
The body and wood structured cab is in excellent shape. The doors are solid, and they shut and open as they should. The motor is the original for the period ( maybe its not the original either...no way of actually knowing ) and it starts, everything turns and rolls as it should ( as do the mechanical breaks). I really am fairly ignorant when it comes to the mechanical aspects of the rig...and never should have made the purchase. ( KIND OF GOT IN OVER MY HEAD) a mechanic friend helped me go thru the rig to the point of being able to get it started...I alsoput on a new muffler..the old one had holes in it. I have not tried driving it...I'm a little scared..LOL...
I was actually out on an errand, checking out a new ride for the wife when I purchased the truck. I did not do the due diligence that I should have...and now I am into this thing to the tune of about 15k. (I actually paid a company to post it on ebay for me...but my reserve was too high, and it did not sell...it got up into the 8's ).
Really and truly this is a very cool old truck...and will make a great addition to somebody's garage...just not mine! It has a clear title, and is titled as a 1928 Chevrolet Pick up. ( so why would I have ever thought that it was something different from that ??? ) Live and Learn...or maybe never learn!!!
I am not going to put a reserve on this thing...I just want it sold. ( I have no intention of showing this posting to the boss...or telling her how much money I have lost on the deal) I am starting it at a lower price than I have already been offered..it's gonna go to the highest bidder
Please do not bother me with scams, nor do I need any more help in selling this item...I am more than happy to answer any questions though, and I appreciate you taking the time to read my post...Lifes too short to fret!!!Everyone that see's this rig comments on how "cute" she is...especially the girls ( with one exception..the wife! )
There are a few scratch's on the body, and surface rust on the under-carriage...but really minimal. This truck was always parked under cover..it's pretty remarkable for it's age. It is very solid!!! You will not find another one like it!!!
