1959 CORVETTE

This is a running driving project car. I have driven it a few miles, but would not plan to do a long trip it it. The car has very old baisply tireson it. The tires are checked and cracked. The car is a project. It was recently saved from a 15 year rest in the Arizona desert. We brought is back to Portland where we cleaned it out, flushed the brakes, tank and fuel system. We changed plug wires, the oil in the motor trans and rearand flushedcooling system. We installed a new master cylinder and and packedthe bearings. We added fuel and a new battery and the car started up with ease. The engine fires on the first kick.We were told by the prior owner who had the carsince 1974 that theengine is a 1967 Chevelle 283built to 301, and that it wasbuilt 15-20 yearsago but never driven. The engine was built byPrecisionEngineSpecialistin Seattle Washington, they are still in business.

The engine has an early Edelbrock C4B intake, MT valve covers, a Holley 3310carb, Cyclone Headers,A Lakewood steel Scatter shield and an aluminum T10 4 speed. This car looks straight out of the 1970's, with the green metal flake two tone interior and paint.

I believe that the car was originally Snowcrest white with a red interior. It is optioned with power windows, wonderer radio and windshield washers. It was a two top car, but now it only has the hardtop. We do not know what theoriginal engine was.

The interior is rough and needs to be restored. The carpet and dash pad were so sun baked I threw them out. The seats are worn out and so are the door panels. All the gauges work except the fuel gauge. The radio does not work.

The car has a solid frame. Beside the bad paint, the body has stress cracks and there is a hole in the front near the emblem. The doors close nicely and the windows go up and down well. The chrome shows well for being 50+ years old. it does have some pitting. The driver side front bumpers is the worst. The hardtop rubber is worn and cracked, same with the hardtop windows. This is a running driving project car.
