1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 4-door
Description
1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 4-Door. I'm a long time Corvair guy and a friend had this in his Basement heated Garage since 1994. He would not sell it to me the several times I asked over 25 years stating he was in the buying business not the selling business. He tore it apart and other projects kept him away from this one. He is now in a nursing home and His children called the Central Kentucky Corvair Club and I ended up with this car. It has an open clean Mississippi title with the miles as exempt dated 5/27/1993. Very Little rust. The drivers floor had been repaired badly many years ago so I replaced it. The front trunk lid has rust bubbles around the Corvair Letters. Other than that very solid. She has had one repaint a long time ago and now has lots of scratches from Children and grandchildren. It was on jack stands beside the Pool table. I installed a 110 HP 1964 used engine and transmission from another car, repaired the brakes, reinstalled the interior. Put a good used set of correct size P185/80R13 whitewall tires on it and the correct 64 wheel covers. The engine has two rebuilt Wolfe Carburetors and the car runs and drives good. The drivers seat has a seam split and the passenger seat has the 64 pattern but is not a factory seat cover. This car originally had a forced air heater and has had a gas heater installed. It does work but needs an exhaust pipe. It is an powerglide two speed automatic. Correct 64 front suspension with sway bar and correct 64 rear suspension with the transverse leaf spring. Correct factory Radio and bezel. All glass is good. I buffed the paint and it looks ok as a driver but again lots of nicks and scratches. Paint would do this car wonders but is completely useable as a fun driver like it is. No reserve, high bid gets it.
