Description

1965 Corvette Survivor
Thank you for taking a look at our very original 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, VIN # 194675S111507. Optioned as an L75 327 (300HP) and Muncie M20 4 speed transmission with 3:36 Posi rear axle, we have verified that the car still has the numbers matching drivetrain and have worked to verify the originality of the rest of the car. This is an incredible survivor Corvette that deserves to be in a collection or enjoyed by an enthusiast or historian. Body by A.O. Smith, built on February 24, 1965 and final assembly on March 4, 1965 this was a Saint Louis, Missouri built Corvette! Painted Nassau Blue with Blue Vinyl interior, the car was optioned with both soft and hard tops. It still has (what we believe) the original paint on the majority of the car and the interior looks to be completely original. What an incredible find!
The body is very straight, with the bonding strips showing across most of the car. Then there are the fun details such as the glass is date coded original as well as the T3 headlights on the car! We also replaced the tires with year appropriate gold line tires and cleaned up the original hubcaps. The whole car is showing its age with the class and beauty befitting a survivor C2 Corvette.
Open the hood and you'll see a very original engine compartment with the original 327. We believe it has been rebuilt at some point but its patina matches the exterior nicely. A closer look with show you that the water pump (3782608) and radiator hoses are correct. The Alternator (1100693 - 37A) is date coded 4J2 and has the correct (freshly replaced) belts and pulleys. We sourced the correct fuel filter (GF-90) and plugs (AC44) and wires (Packard date coded 1-Q-65) for the car to maintain its originality and make it ready for the road! The details continue on and prove just how original the car still is after all of these years!
A look inside and you'll notice how complete the interior is. While most of the carpet is now gone and there are some substantial flaws in the seat covers, it is the original material that remains. A closer look still with show that details like the cigarette lighter looks to be original. The original soft top is complete but is unusable.
As you can see from the information below, this is a very original and correct Corvette! Currently, the radiator is the correct part number but not date correct and the shocks work properly but are not the correct casting or style that came on the car originally. The calipers are all Delco Remy but are not the correct casting number that came on the car originally. The radio and clock are correct and present and working well, as are the interior lights and glove box light. Finally, we replaced the power antenna with a newer design that is functional and looks correct from the outside. We retained the original antenna should you decide to have it rebuilt!
This C2 Corvette is begging to be added to the collection of an enthusiast that will share it with the public and keep it on the road. The patina of the paint which we believe could be mostly or completely original) is very fun to see in person and you can feel the authenticity of the car throughout. We encourage anyone who has doubts about the car to please come inspect it yourself. It will win you over as you see its originality. Please contact us with any questions regarding the condition of any specific items or if you would like to see the car in person!
