Description

Old pickup trucks just aren't supposed to be this nice, however this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne Super looks like it's had a frame-off restoration to an extremely high standard. We've seen a lot of these trucks come through our doors, but this is most likely the finest of them all.First of all, the simple Viper Red paint job looks downright fantastic thanks to incredible finish quality and attention to detail. It seems to emphasize the C10's rugged good looks, and serves as a perfect backdrop for the bright trim that's a part of the Cheyenne package. Gaps are tight and the sheetmetal looks like it just popped out of the press yesterday, not more than 40 years ago. Heck, even the bed is spotless, without so much as a dent from a carelessly tossed 2x4 decades ago. It takes a lot of confidence in your work to put it out there like this, with only the floor of the bed protected by a super clean layer of spray-on bedliner material. All the original trim went back on, including the woodgrained tailgate insert and the funky cool graphics along the rocker panels. Even things like the bowtie emblem in the grille and the parking light lenses look exceptionally crisp and bright, but maybe that's just the sizzling red paint. What better in a brilliant red truck than GM's handsome houndstooth upholstery. Classic and elegant and oh-so-GM in every way, it makes the bench seat look downright inviting. The woodgrained dash is full of crisp, bright instruments (including a rare factory tach), and there's a modern billet steering wheel that's a bit more aggressive than the original. Beautiful black carpets are as plush as anything you'll find in a luxury car today and this truck is set up for factory A/C, so it would be relatively easy to reinstall it if you're going to take it someplace warm. Beautiful black door panels with more woodgrained details, and a taut headliner round out an extremely nice interior. They even kept the original steering column and AM/FM radio in the dash, so it looks quite correct but feeds a set of modern speakers down in the kick panels so it sounds far better than stock. The 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood is ready to work or play, or even show thanks to a high-level detail that makes it look factory fresh. With Chevy Orange paint, finned valve covers and a matching air cleaner, it's plenty flashy. But look closely and you'll also find an Edelbrock carb and high-rise intake manifold lurking under the air cleaner, along with a throaty Flowmaster dual exhaust system, so nobody will mistake this for a work truck. And as long as you're under there, have a look at the exceptionally clean floors, the beautifully refinished frame, and the fully rebuilt front and rear suspension systems. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic backed by a 12-bolt rear, so if hauling is your intent, this truck is up to it. I mean, just look how fresh it is under there! The only thing that gives away the illusion is the slightly lowered stance and a set of pretty aluminum wheels wearing 255/60/15 BFGoodrich radials. With all the cars and trucks coming through the Streetside Classics showroom, it takes something truly special to make us sit up and take notice. This amazing truck does it so subtly that you'll need to come back for a second and third look. Call today!
