I purchased this beautiful truck here on Ebay in January and on February 6th my 84 year old father (with Alzheimer's) threatened to commit suicide while at the VA when his doctor told him that he could no longer drive due to his rapidly deteriorating mental health. It is a long story but the short of it is that he could no longer live independently and I took him in. Suddenly my new toy didn't have much personal value. To add to my drama someone stole the truck out of the storage unit on Feb 11th where I thought that it was safe, had it for three weeks, drove it less than 60 miles but decided to paint it some zombie apocalypse blue and in addition to being a thief he also had no skill with body and paint. I recovered it from the police impound on 3/8/17 and decided to have it repainted yellow. It just came back from the painter 5 days ago and this was a complete base coat clear coat paint job done right. All of the blue paint was sanded off except for the chrome which was removed with stripper. The bed was removed as well as all of the chrome trim, inner door panels, rubber hood bumpers, etc.
When I purchased the truck it was in pristine restored condition and in addition to beautiful paint work the entire drive train had been gone through and there is less than 500 miles on the rebuilt 350 engine, transmission, rear end, brakes, etc. Even the cab had been removed because when I repainted it we removed the bed and I noticed that the cab to frame bushings were fresh. The truck has zero rust and zero rust repair. I also noticed that the fuel pump and lines were all redone as well. He also painted the entire frame, axle, etc. During the restoration he replaced all of the glass, all of the rubber seals around the glass, the weather stripping around the doors, new carpet, new upholstery, new seat belts, new door panels, new door trim, new dash, new dash bezel, new chrome AC vents, a new stereo (the stereo was stolen and never recovered but the speakers are still there), new headliner, new visors, etc. What is impressive is how well the truck runs and drives. Although it is carbureted it starts with a remote start! It shifts through the gears and goes over the bumps like a new truck. No shakes, shimmies or strange noises. It has Flowmaster dual exhaust with headers and has a nice throaty exhaust note. I don't know much about the engine specifications but it has no trouble turning the tires when accelerating. This is the Silverado version and so it came with power windows, power door locks, tilting steering wheel, full gauge package, dual tanks and AC. If you care to see more detail than provided by the photos check out the YouTube video. If you don't know how to copy and paste the link just put 1986 Silverado Atlas Yellow in the search box on YouTube and it will come up. I take the camera all over the truck so that there aren't any 'mysteries' for the interested bidder. Furthermore, if you care to test drive it or look it over prior to purchase I will bend over backwards to accommodate you.
This truck is located in Denton, Texas but still has a Georgia title. I have had one negative feedback in over 10 years on Ebay and that was due to the buyer failing to follow the payment instructions and my refusal to change them on his account. Payment must be by bank wire transfer or cash in person, no exceptions. If you have any questions call me at 817 403-7723. Thanks for your interest!
