Description

This is a 1971 Chevy 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive long bed pick up, 74k original miles. It was sold and lived in Texas its entire life until approximately 10 years ago.It was bought and shipped up to Maryland where it received new paint and some mechanical attention. It has been garaged 100% of the time it was not in Texas. This is about as rust-free as they get.

Exterior:Incredible survivor with 1 repaint. It is Dupont Base-Clear. The inside of the bed is single stage Dupont. It was painted with the bed off so there are no tape lines on the back of the cab. The only rust it ever had was on top of the drivers rocker and very small hole in the drivers floor---this is shown in one of the underside pictures. All the body panels are original except for the left fender which was bent living in Texas. The replacement fender is a used GM fender and shows a couple small rust bubbles at the very bottom. The right door also shows a small rust bubble at the bottom front. The radiator support is solid and original. The inner fenders are orginal. I believe the front of the right inner fender has been repaired if memory serves me right. The outside of the tailgate is straight but one of the factory spot welds has come loose on the left side. The inside of the tailgate shows some character. It has a inside-the-bed spare tire holder. Has the orginal dealer inscribed rear bumper on it too! New weather-strips. The grill has not been replaced but looks good, new front bumper.

Suspension: All original save for adding a factory front sway bar. Everything is tight. The front brake rotors are original and have the grove in them. The emergency brake cables are original and the E-brake works perfectly.

Interior:new correctseat cover, dash pad and carpet. No paint done inside the cab. Radio Delete . The steering wheel is NOT a replacement and is a very nice OEM. I believe the windshield is original and still has the Texas stickers in it from 2001(?)

Engine/Trans: The cylinder head was pulled upon arriving in Maryland and a complete valve job was done (had 2 burnt exhaust valves)The factory 6 cylinder has run perfectly ever since.Factory 3 speed on the column manual shift. Factory power steering was added. The radiator is original and does not appear to leak.New battery, new OE carburetor. Exhaust is quit and of OE style.

The fuel gauge does not work like many of these old trucks.

Hard to find truck of this vintage in this shape. It would drive to California if so desired.

The 350 fender emblems were added prior to paint in part because the used left fender already had the holes.

This truck is not for sale because I need the money, I don't. So please do not call me and think I am going to end the auction early if youoffer $5,000 cash---not going to happen. If you want to make a real offer on it do some research----Ebaycompleted auctions "sold"is a great source. Next call I get with a low offer I will consider an insult so don't. Good luck and bid to win!!!!
