Description
This Camaro is being Relisted. Winning bidder never followed through. 1969 Big Block SS/Z28 Camaro show car winner from Florida. 2 Awards from the 2014 Mirror Lake Auto Show in Lakeland, Florida.
I purchased this Camaro back in 2015 to create my dream ZL-1 Camaro. Never got around to it. So this Camaro has never beendriven since I have owned it. Previous owner performed the restoration. She is a true Hugger Orange and Deluxe Interior car, as verified by the trim tag. The previous owner tells me that it was aBig Block SS from New Mexico when he purchased it. The early production Camaros had no X codes on the trim tags to verify the model. However with information from the CRG web site, there are two physical conditions on this Camaro that verify the SS or Z/28 model for this car. 1. Small rectangular plate welded on the driver's side frame rail. Only high performance dual exhaust cars had this plate. 2. The speedometer cable firewall exit holebehind the driver's side valve cover is only for Muncie equipped Camaros, which this car has.
The body has been restored with a show quality paint application base coat 4 clear coats that is virtually flawless with the exception of a scratch on the front and rearvalances which happened during my possession. The new taillight valence/bezel is installed slightly off not allowing the tail lights toprotrude properly, this drives me crazy. Other than this the body and paint is beautiful, smooth and deep in appearance. All thechrome trim is new as well as the stainless trim. All the glass is new with the exception of the two rear quarter windows. All new weatherstripping throughout. All the lights work properly. The trunk is cleanwith newsplatter paint. Spare tire and jack is present as well as the trunk mat.
The interior is new Deluxe Black Houndstooth. Carpet and Headliner are new. Door panels are new with new window cranks. Console has thegauge package with all working gauges. 140 mph Speedometer and 7000 rpm 5500 redline tach with working clock. Deluxe wood 3 spoke steering wheel and Hurst shifter. The stock radio and horn does not work at the moment. The dash could use further detailing, especially by the radio and clock to make it look sharper.
Drivetrain has all been rebuilt. The vintage 454 is dressed to look the 427 part with the cowl induction setup mated to a rebuilt Muncie M-21 with a new clutch and related components. The distributor is the old points setup, One would updated it with an electronic setup forreliability if desired. Big block aluminumradiator for keeping her cool is installed. The rear end is a 12 Bolt Posi with 4:10 gears.
Chassis and undercarriage has all been cleaned and painted satin black. All new Flowmaster exhaust system front to back with awesome sound. All new brakes and a new Cad-plated Delco Moraine booster, not the painted cad look.
All five tires are vintage Good Year Wide Tread F70 x 15's on restored FW ralley rims with newderbys and trim rings. The tires are original 69's and used for show only.
I'm sure I probably missed some items, I've described from my perspective so there are no surprises, overall she is a REAL DEAL SS or Z28 Vintage Muscle Camaro needing a new owner to enjoy!Inspections are encouraged and welcome.
