1949 Chevy 3100 Short-bed Truck (Restomod)
Description
1949 Chevrolet 3100 Shortbed Truck - Restomod:
3rd owner, was in the same family from 1949 to 2000, rust free, before a mechanic purchased and began the frame off Restomod - S10 drive train and chassis conversion in 2000 but complete frame on overhaul/LS drive train swap done by Killer Ridez in Dallas, a custom truck builder in 2016/2017. I bought truck from second owner in 2015 and spent 12 months converting to what you see today.
Body/Exterior: original fathom green repainted in 1971 and shown with natural patina, polished, clear coated. Very solid body and floors, no dings, straight. Wood bed floor raises up to access fuel tank, battery, and custom storage compartment. Brand new powder coated custom wheels, 18s up front, 20s in back - all wrapped in brand new rubber. Has brand new 3inch exhaust/mufflers with Flowmaster systems. Spent 600 on exhaust alone.
Chassis/drive train: Chevy S10 chassis done right with AD engineering body mount kit. LS fuel injected motor - 5.3L V8, aluminum cast, 300 HP, L460E transmission, 4 speed automatic. Drive and go in this thing. Modern drive train and suspension make this a daily driver if you want and get it serviced at your local Chevy dealer. Power steering, computer brand new, etc. LS motor and tranny pulled from 2006 Chevy SSR with <50k original miles. Brand new radiator with electric fan and relay kit, new block hugger headers for motor, LS gauge adaptor kit, LS engine motor mount and adapter plates. Brand new wiring harness. Brand new driveshaft. New wire throughout entire truck.
Suspension - complete air ride system: viair 480 chrome dual pack, 5 gallon air tank, accuair E level controller with touchpad ($1500 alone for this), new bags, heavy duty Monroe shocks...
Rear axle is a 2 link / panard bar setup. New control arms, new disc brakes, too much to list.
Interior: all new professional interior, headliner, door panels, seats, and carpeting. Thick brown carpet with sound deadoner pad. Brand new brown vinyl and crocodile interior. Brand new Bluetooth enabled stereo system with speakers and built in subwoofer hidden in dash (comes with remote). Brand new gauges (over $1k on gauges alone) w LS conversion kit. New glass and rubber. New steering column, floor shifter, wiring.
I spent over $30k on the newest build completed in early 2017. You can't find a 49 conversion like this for under $50k. New baby and moving on. Certainly not recouping my investment (65k+) but my loss is your gain. I have all detailed receipts for work and parts. Id also offer up my mechanic that completed the build to talk about all the new parts, work, and attention to detail. This truck is done right and I'm not in a pinch to sell, so please don't low ball me.
