Description

1931 Chevrolet 1 1/2 Ton Dump Truck - Hydraulic Dump

We are offering a preserved piece of History. It is worthy of a spot in a museum. Chevrolet trucks of thisEra are few and far between. This truck in particular has a Hydraulic Dump bedand wasthe first of its kind. PTO driven dump beds were only offered in late production 1931 Models. Prior to this, the beds were hand cranked up and down. This truck was thought to be an early asphalt truck, asasphalt was discovered sandwichedbetween the dump bed frame during restoration. The frame of the bed was in tack but the wood was all but gone.We have attached a picture prior to restoration.

Mechanical: Inline 6cyl Motor Runs Good, Carburetor accelerator Pump is leaking a bit could use arebuild from sitting. It runs and drive, being a 1931 the brakes are very stiff and all mechanical. Headlights are not wired in, but wiring is ran into cab, oil pressure gauge works. (See video of it running and driving) The original oil bath air cleaner is with the truck. As well as the original through crank style radiator. It has a new all aluminum radiator painted black to blend with the truck.

Exterior: Paint has very nice shine and body is fairly straight, Most of the interior wood was replaced when it was restored. The bed was completely rebuilt on the original frame that was constructed of rail road track at some time of its life! This was not long after the stock market crash of 1929 and during theGreat Depressionsupplies were thin and people used what was available. The bed was finished to furniture quality for show. It was constructed with painted galvanized carriage bolts. The gate utilizes sleeved nail swingwith a latch and will swing open when dumped. As shown in video. The Windshield is original and it does not retain door glass but the crank and track are still in the doors.

Interior: The interior is inexcellent original condition, the wood door panels were refinished along with the wood seat base and button tucked bench seat.

It has a currentMissourititle in our dealerships name.
