1937 Chevrolet Pickup, Standard 6 Foot Bed
Please keep in mind that this is an 80 year old truck--things were different in 1937. This is not a daily driver and it likes to stay around 40-50 mph. The truck is running and driving and is in all original condition. While the full history is unknown, it was owned by one family for 76 years. It is believed to have sat in a dry barn for 43 years without being touched. This truck is truly unique and you'll be hard pressed to find another like it.
Four years ago, a gentleman purchased the truck and brought it back to life. During those 4 years, the carburetor, fuel pump, points, and condenser were replaced before any attempts of starting the truck happened. The radiator was removed and a new core was installed along with a new water pump and all new hoses. The entire brake system was replaced except for the drums. The master cylinder, hard brake lines, rubber brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and all hardware were replaced. The king pins and bushings in the front end were replaced. Brand new, but time period correct, Firestone tires were purchased and installed--these are from Coker Tires in Chattanooga, TN. The head gasket was replaced, the starter was rebuilt, and a new battery was installed. All parts replaced and installed in the last 4 years. The gas tank is incredibly clean.
The truck is in very good condition for its age. This truck is a true survivor. There is surface rust throughout making for great looking patina. There is one spot of rust-through under the hood on the splash panel. I have a spare patch panel to go with the truck that can be welded in place. This truck is a three-speed on the floor. The truck has what is believed to be the original wooden bed.
While the new owner will have a clean truck to make their own, I believe this truck should remain original--where will you find another?I am asking $12,950 obo for the truck. I am open to reasonable offers. Please do not offer me $10,000 below my asking price. That is not reasonable in my opinion.
I would prefer to make a deal in person. This truck does not have a warranty--neither implied or written. Truck must be paid for in full and in cash before leaving my garage. Seller can arrange shipping at his/her own cost AFTER viewing the truck. Local pickup only. I will not ship this truck through my planning.
I can be reached by phone at 501.733.3664. You may call or text me for more information. I also have a video of the truck running at idle that I can send via text.
