Description
Up for sale is a 1969 Chevrolet C30 Flatbed. Straight Six 292 engine. 4 on the floor transmission with the granny gear. If you are local and have cash, message me.
The truck is all original. Including the paint. It has the original dealership sticker. NO RUST. It was a farm truck, rarely saw the roads. NO RUST in the cab corners. Would make an excellent candidate for restoration. Windows roll up and down. Doors lock. Windshield wipers work. Transmission shifts. In warm weather, it starts right up. No cracks in any of the glass. All lights work. Radio blasts sweet AM radio.
What have we done?
Distributor and wires, spark plugs, air filter, oil changes, transmission grease and oil changes, greased the wheel bearings. Replaced the rims of the truck (if you want to go back to original you are talking about a 100-200 bucks from a salvage yard max), we also replaced the brakes including shoes and all springs and parts inside of the drums. Replaced the heater core (old one was cracked). Radiator fluid. And the belts and hoses. Tires, we put on new rims and we also replaced the tires, we put on Transforce AT's these are serious tires, less than a thousand miles on them. There may be some other stuff but thats the jist. We had the front bumper sand blasted and powdercoated by Killer Koatings over in Covington, Ky.
What is wrong with it?
-The gasket/doughnut off of the manifold, connected to the exhaust needs to be replaced (I assume anyone who is buying this, is going to rebuild the engine and take it the next step, so I dont see this as a big deal) It drives fine as is.-Like all trucks of this age, there is a slight oil drip from rear of engine (again, I assume anyone buying this is going to be rebuilding the engine and taking this the next step)-Small indent in front grill (shown in pictures)-Gas gauge, (likely the float in the tank has just aged and needs to be replaced)-Seat has a rip in it, thats why there is a cover
I cant think of anything else, but if you are local and want to hear it run or see it in person, just let me know.
What do I know about it?
I am the technically the third owner, the first two were a father and son. This came off of a farm auction in Dillsboro, Indiana. I have the original bill of sale, from the dealership in 69'. Its a good find. Great truck. We bought it for a work vehicle, I have a furniture business, we used it to haul raw materials. We recently bought a more modern Kodiak. It was a farm truck and barn kept, which is the only way to explain how there is no through rust, and the paint is in as good of condition as it is. No cracks in the glass. All original. No rust in the cab corners. No rust in the doors. Its amazing, given that it was clearly always a work vehicle. Solid frame and floor boards.
Great condition. Would be an excellent candidate for restoration, or a good daily driver, as is.
Whats our story with it?
I have a woodworking and metal working business. We bought this partially because its amazing and its a bit of a novelty to deliver brand new furniture on something with this type of character.
Long story short, the business has grown, we had to buy a Kodiak to haul the heavier material and to pick up heavier machinery. It doesnt make sense for us to keep both. I love this truck. I will be sad to see it go. I am sure I am going to kick myself when I sell it. That being said, we are in no rush to sell. I am going to keep posting this, until I find the right buyer. This is the third time I have posted it. That right buyer could be you, just make a reasonable offer. I am about a few postings away from just keeping it, and restoring it myself.
If you have questions, or want additional pictures of the under-body or bed, just let me know.
Thank you.

Item is listed locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early. Thank you.
On Jul-24-17 at 04:52:03 PDT, seller added the following information:I got a question about the title. I have a clean and clear Kentucky title. I only mention the original dealership bill of sale, because of how original the truck is. I also have the original owners manual. I have an additional front Chevy emblem, the painted black farm rails for the truck, and I think thats it for stuff that I can add easily. Feel free to ask me questions.
Thanks.
