Description

Hello,

Well the time has finally come to sell my 1964 Chevy Corvair Monza Convertible. This has been my pride and joy over the last several years.I have spent countless hours restoring it. Not to mention all my spare money.I am heading to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte this fall for Construction Management and need money for tuition.I bought this car about 3 years ago and have since then practically fully restored it.

So here is the rundown: The car is a 4 speed on the floor with the 110 non turbo, air cooled flat six.

I did all the bodywork and paint, far from perfect, but a good ten footer, took care of all the rust and patched the floor pans.

The engine has been bored .030 over and completely rebuilt.Everything is tight, and the compression is very good. See the picture of the compression test.

The entire brake system has been replaced including all new lines, rebuilt master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, new hardware and brake shoes.

The car has a new pressure plate, clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing, starter, fuel pump, alternator, rebuilt carbs, new tires, new top, fresh bulbs and headlights, and the interior has been freshened up.

While this car has been completely gone through, it is not perfect. For example there seems to be a loose wire causing the driver side taillight to only work when it wants to. I never got around to reinstalling the convertible top seals but have the old ones that you can be reused. Also the speedometer, fuel gauge, and wipers are not hooked up. The car comes with several boxes of extra parts and all the stuff that I have collected over the years.

I would also note that since the bodywork had been done the car has gained a few dings and scratches, but nothing too bad.

All in all this car is a great cruiser and is a blast to drive, it just needs someone with time to care for it and drive it. I recently took it on a day trip to the mountains and drove down the Blue Ridge Parkway from Charlotte to Boone to Asheville and back to Charlotte and the car handled wonderfully.

If you have any questions please e-mail.I would be happy to talk to you on the phone if you are serious about buying the corvair.

Thanks for looking.
