This 1949 Chevy is ready for pick up, but buyer must coordinate a mutually convenient pick up time with my friend in Hickman, Kentucky, or pick it up from me the weekend of July 22 & 23rd or Monday, July 24th. I have a Court Order filed in September 2008 that says the 1949 Chevy Bel Air coupe passed from my father to me, at his death, earlier that year, but I have not found an official title. I do have the last insurance papers on it, for the year 1968-69, which is also the last year that it was driven, and I will provide a simple "Bill of Sale" if requested, but I'm not going to be able to provide an official title. I will however, cooperate as much as I reasonably can to make sure the buyer obtains what he/she needs to prove ownership.I don't have a key handy, but might find one and will send it. A key is not necessary as it is a push button starter as long as it is switched to the on position, which can pushed into position with one's finger if the key is not used. Of course it does not have a good battery and the engine would need oil for sure, and probably a whole lot more as I don't think anyone has opened the hood in ten years or more. All that said, it has most of it's parts and glass, and it has not been vandalized, -- so far. The trunk didn't shut easily last time I tried.History: I (the seller) drove this car some until 1969. In 1969 I moved 1,800 miles away to go to college, and my mother passed away in 1971, so it was not needed as my father had several other vehicles, including farm trucks, so he didn't want to pay for the insurance and registration. It is old and has not had regular oil changes (maybe not any) since 1969, nor a new battery or anything resembling regular maintenance. So I'm sure that time has taken it's toll. On a more positive note, it belongs to the bygone, post war era of the early 1950's, and, with a lot of TLC and hard work, it could be restored. There are not many of these left and there will never be any more.
