1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport. It is a body by fisher V8 sport car and is painted in its original color Y-2 butternut yellow, and black vinyl roof. The stripes are not a factory option, however they are nicely painted on and not the cheap vinyl stickers. The interior is in great shape with black leather bucket seats with the horse shoe center console. The headliner is in great shape with the original optional cross over seat belt above your head. The car does have am/fm radio hidden away in the glove box.
The car was painted before my ownership. There are no rust bubbles on the paint. The hood was replaced with a new cowl hood, the floorboards and the rear quarter panels were cut out and also replaced with new metal when it was repainted along with the vinyl top. There are bubbles that have started to show under the rear window of the vinyl top. No big scratches on the car. There are a few paint chips from the road as I do drive the car.
Things that are new since my ownership. The normal maintenance things like spark plugs, wires and belts are all new within the year. But you want to hear about the big things that are new. New full front and rear suspension and bushings. I have replace the entire braking system(lines and all) with power brakes. Drilled and slotted disk brakes up front and new drums in back. The whole fuel system has been replaced from New Rochester Carb for a factory look to fuel lines/pump all the way back to the new fuel tank. I also rebuilt the rear axle with all new bearing and seals and a new Yukon Posi-traction 3.73 gears. I even had the transmission opened up and had all the gaskets and seals replaced for peace of mind and no leaks. I had a oil pressure gauge, battery gauge and temp gauge installed also, the temp gauge stopped working about a month ago and I haven't diagnosed it yet. New heater and electric fan under the dash. I have new polished and finned aluminum valve covers and a new battery tray that isn't installed yet.(waiting until I want to do a full engine rebuild)
The things that need attention in the future.
I have a new starter on it however I need to get it re shimmed because it doesn't engage every once in awhile.
If you plan on having it sit outside uncovered all day to where it gets rained on you will want to get the bottom of the rear window checked out and sealed so the rain doesn't amplify anything under the vinyl roof.
The motor runs great and isn't leaving oil spots anywhere but making to look better is the next on my list of things to do to the car to make it to the next level of classic. Car as it sits has never left me stranded on the side of the road and I drive it a lot.
Please feel free to message me if you want a walk around video I took 7/24/17 or any pictures of something you cant see more of or have any questions.
