You are looking at a very well sorted 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe. It's had the same owner for 20 years, a retired GM employee for 33 years. The car is the factory color Silver Pearl with black leather seats, not vinyl reproductions. It came with the following factory options AO1 Tinted glas, F41 suspension, G81 posi traction rear axle, L72 427 V-8 engine, M20 four speed, N11 offroad exhaust, P48 Kelsey Hayes aluminum knock off wheels, T01 Goldwall tires, U69 am/FM radio, J50 power Disc Brakes, N40 power steering, 6500-7000RPM Tach and 80 PSI oil gauge. It was built at the St. Louis plant. It was deliverd to Lynn Layton Chevrolet in Decatur Alabama. Early on the motor developed some problems and was replaced with a gm replacement motor. The most recent owner was tired of looking for 102 octane fuel and being limited as to where he could drive it, he won world of wheels a couple times and several car shows. It was December 2015 and it started making a lot of lifter noise, it was torn down and the cam had a flat lobe, a result of not using oil with added zinc. He took it to bell auto for a rebuild, he wanted to make it run on premium pump gas, they decided on a 7.4 liter fourbolt main block, flat top pistons fly cut for valve clearance, 68-70 corvette 427 heads with hardend seats, hydraulic cam with a good sound and power. The m20 4 speed was rebuilt earlier with new bearings and seals. The rear end has a 3:08 posi-trac ratio for high way cruising, rebuilt with new u joints and bearings. Vintage A/C was installed and blows cold. The brake calipers are stainless steel also has new rotors, wheels bearings and bushings. We have 9 folders of receipts for various things done to the car by its previous owner. It has a black Harrison aluminum radiator 4 core heavy duty. This car can be driven anywhere, it was recently driven from Alabama to Florida. It's a real pleasure to drive, has cold a/c makes good power, runs on premium pump gas, has amazing power disc brakes. It you are looking for a very well sorted 1966 corvette this may be just the right car for you. If you are looking for a perfect restored matching numbers car it will be north of $100,000 and this is not that car.
