Description

1979 Chevy El Camino SS*Located In Spokane, WA and will need to be picked up within 14 days of auction end. I will provide winning bidder with my phone number so they can call to make arrangements.*Clear title*Been in our family since new BUT needs to be overhauled & restored.*My elderly grandparents purchased it off the lot in 1980 and it was rarely driven, then passed to my mom when my grandfather passed away.My mom drove it 10 miles a day to work and back. She rarely went anywhere else. She had no garage so it has been out under a pine tree, in the weather and beating sun for years.**Motor was rebuilt in 2000 at 106,796 miles on the car. I believe it has has about 50K on the rebuild.Original motor was a 305 but I don't believe the original block was put back in. A different 305 block was probably used.*It has the original rally wheels, air shocks (it was used to pull a golf cart on occasion)Leather, snap-in bed cover. Power mirrors/windows/locks. Not sure about Cruise Control.*The car was running until the battery went dead. It has had 4 new batteries but keeps shorting them out or something. I've had it at my mechanic on several occasions. He says it's fixed then after I take it home, 2 days later it won't start. I'm sick of dealing with it and would like it to go to someone who can fix and restore it.*It has a bit of rust so will need some body work, the interior is old, brittle, musty and will need to be redone.*All of the windows are intact with no cracks or breaks. The rear curved window is pristine.*This really needs a total overhaul and restoration. I doubt that anyone would want to drive it as is, even if they got it running. It had sentimental value to us so we overlooked a lot of it's issues. It has lots of small issues. It has been sitting for a couple years now, so the power locks, windows, etc may not work. One of the mirrors is broken, the dash lights weren't working, etc.*I've done a lot of research on these cars and they can be absolutely stunning when restored so I am hoping this car can be amazing some day!*Please feel free to ask any questions. I will answer as best as I can.
