You are bidding on a 1963 Split window Corvette- Only built 1 year
Car was built the 2nd week of October 1962 (early 1963), the 611th Coupe produced.
It is my understanding the 1st owner had problems with the engine in april of "64" and the engine was replaced with a factory engine 327- 250 HP Driver side Casting # 3272870 passenger side Casting F64 (June 8th, 1964) 2nd owner went through engine at 85,000 miles and put 300 HP heads back on. 3rd owner took it to California, years later the car came back and was purchased by a 4th owner who had it roughly 30 years. The 5th owner had it about 4 years and it mostly sat in his barn and was driven occasionally. I am the 6th Owner.
4th Owner had body stripped to fiberglass, resprayed the original Sebring Silver color in lacquer/ clear coat. This was a $60.00 option when new. It is the only known respray.
Body lines, hood, headlight and door gaps are perfect.
Car was featured in the Detroit Paper at the GM World Headquarters in 1998 for the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the corvette. (We have a copy of the article)
Car has won many 1st place trophies
Car-has been kept in heated garages
Everything works on the car as it came from the factory.
Interior is correct and beautiful (no rips, tears, or cracks)
Passenger door rear view mirror was added, as it was an option in late "63"
Factory Owners manual
You can drive the car anywhere, show it, and have fun with it right now and not have to go through a 2-4 year restoration project
