This '65 is an Impala, with the Caprice Body By Fisher trim package. The Caprice was not its own model until 1966. As I understand (and may be wrong) 1965 was the only year the Impala caprice was made, and the only year a caprice had round tail lights. This particular car is mechanically in fantastic condition. It is all original except for the wheels and carburetor. The original wheels, wheel covers, and carb will come with it, but the original Rochester 4jet will need rebuilding. The 327 engine purrs with Holly Street Demon 625 carburetor, and the two speed powerglide transmission pulls strong with no slippage. The battery is brand new.The generator and power steering work flawlessly but I have not tested the A/C. It most likely works fine but I have not purchased a new belt to test it. Head lights, brake lights, and turn signals, and wipers all work. The only thing that needs to be replaced to pass inspection is the exhaust. The exhaust is rusted from the headers down. It does have a brand new brake master cylinder, all new wheel cylinders, and new brake lines all the way around so the car stops great. Its also sitting on brand new tires with no miles and a transferable warranty with lifetime balancing and rotation from Discount Tire. Since the tires were replaced, the car is only driven into and out of the garage. Although the car has been sitting in the garage for the last 25 years, it will need paint and body work. There are a couple dents that should easily pull out, mainly on the rear passenger side door, and back of the rear driver side panel. There is also rust around the back window that will need cleaning and filling in. All of the trim is present. Some upholstery will need cleaning and some may need replacing, but again it is all present, and the seat cushions and frames are in excellent condition. All the doors and windows work great and all of the glass in is perfect condition with no chips cracks or scratches This would make an excellent project car to restore, or just to clean up and cruise around in.
Though technically this is a two owner car, it was originally purchased newby my great grandmother, and passed down to my father. This car has always been in the family and never been abused.
