Van life conversion. Full "vanlife" fit out with everything included.
Description
**PLEASE NOTE - We are still on the road in this van. We arrive in LA on August 25th and it will be available for pick up in Anaheim between the 25 and 28th of August.***
This is 'Lucky' our beloved 1993 Chevy G20 Conversion van. We purchase Lucky 3 months ago from Jim and Denise in Scappoose, Oregon for a road trip through the west coast national parks.
As soon as we got the van home we changed all the fluids and oil filter, installed a new belt and radiator hoses, opened up the diff for a look inside, installed a transmission cooler and had the air conditioning repaired and re-gassed (approx $850 total). Since then we have done around 5000 miles in the van and performed another lube change along the way. We have a clean title and the van has Oregon plates that are good until 2019
We also completed a basic "van life" fit out to prepare Lucky for our trip which enabled us to live out of the van full time while we travelled. This process involved removing the rear captain's chairs and bench seat installing shelving and a queen sized bed. We also installed privacy curtains and window shades to turn the interior into a private space away from curious eyes.
Lucky is 100% van life ready and we are selling him with everything included. If you're planning your own road trip or van life experience you could buy this van and set off tomorrow no problems. We spent over $1000 buying everything required to be completely self-sufficient and it's all included in the sale price of this van. The van is very spacious and has been perfect for the two of us. The inside is very clean and in great condition for its age. We searched for a long time to find a van in as good condition to this and will be sorry to see it go.

Lucky is 23 years old so he isn't without his faults. We don't want you to get any unexpected surprises when you buy the van so I've tried to list everything we are aware of that isn't perfect below. There is also a photo that shows some of his faults included in this advert:
- On the outside, there are a few minor blemishes but nothing serious.- The paint is good, but not perfect with some fading and clear coat peeling.- Sometimes the front passenger window stops working...but it always starts up again after we let it sit for a minute (weird!)- The tires are ok, but I’d consider changing them before doing any driving on icy roads- When we bought the van there was a bit of noise from rear end. We opened the diff and everything looked good inside. After some research, I found this was a common issue with the G20, but not something that should cause major concern. The noise hasn't become any worse during our whole time with the van and isn't so loud it’s annoying.- The ABS light is always on. Again it was like this when we got the van and according to the manual isn't something you have to be concerned about (yes it actually says that).- There's some surface rust on the chrome wheels, but they still look awesome.- After spending $380 on the air-conditioning it's not working again. We were told they fixed a leak and I would assume it's another leak that is the issue. I'm sure it's fixable, but with the widows open you can get plenty of air flowing through the van.
On the flip side. Here's everything about Lucky that is great:
- Mechanically the van is running great. We have receipts for the work we have done and some by the previous owners.- The engine runs quiet and smooth and the van drives perfect- There's no vibration in the steering wheel and it runs straight- The interior is in near perfect condition aside from a few of the buttons on the front seats that have come off (I still have them if you want to reattach) and a few minor blemishesThe engine temperature is consistent even if you let the van sit running on a hot day. We drove to the top of 14,000 foot mountains and through the scorching hot desert and Lucky handled it all without so much as a hiccup.- The brakes work great and even saved us once when we had to do an emergency stop on the freeway...damn mobile phone users!- Van uses little to no oil. I haven't seen it leave a mark on the ground anywhere.- Gears shift well for its age.- Cruise control works great
If you're ready for the van life Lucky could be the perfect solution for you. We stealth camped in car parks and out on deserted prairies. Lucky chewed up highway miles cruising at 70/75mph without skipping a beat and didn't let us down once. We'd love to keep Lucky but our travels have come to an end and it's time to return to our old 9 to 5 lives.
Because we are still on the road we can't offer viewings until we arrive in LA on August 25th. If you contact us we will be happy to provide additional photos and information. The van will be located in Anaheim when we arrive and must be collected between the 25th and the 29th.
