1986 5.9L 24v Cummins Chevrolet Blazer K5 full size M1009
Description
Up for sale is my 1986 K5 M1009 CUCV with a Cummins Conversion
This is a strong driving and reliable truck. It would beat the crap out of you driving it everyday. This is an offroadToy! TheCummins has been in this truck for almost 5 years. I have put about 10k miles on it since the swap.It was a military surplus vehicle I picked up from a localguy about 8 yearsago. It had a 6.2 Detroit Diesel in it previously and weakass10 bolt axles.Found a 2000 1 tonDodge donor and swapped the drivetrain in minus the axles.(the donor was not wrecked, but had a ruined Dana 80 and was left at a repair shop)Itsgot the entire wiring harness, steering column, intercooler, radiator, and more from that truck.
Axles : have 4:10 gears front and rear. Front is a High Pinion Dana 60 out of a 79 F-350 (kingpin). This is a super desirable axle and known for its strength. Recently installed new Warn hub locks. Since the conversion it was rebuilt with new outer bearings, and seals, and new u-joints. Front axle has a posi diff. The rear axle is out of a late 90s Dodge and is a Dana 70. It was completely rebuilt with new bears all around and seals. Transfer case is a 241hd from the donor along with the auto trans (shifts great).
This Blazer is painted in 12.5 gallons of epoxy based bed liner inside and out. That was theone of the first things I did to the truck. It stilllooks awesome and gets tons of interest when out and about.Just don't have a ton of time for it and I want to do some more projects. Kind of losing my diesel kick. I built this truck over the course of several years. Never thought I would sell it. That being said, its time to move on.
Other goodies
12k Ramsey winch(2) new Deka batteriesnew windshieldnew heater core20x10 Fuel octane wheels37" x 12.5 x 20 Toyo tires (very little use) 18" drop for towing (2) flex-o-lite fans for radiator cooling with automatic and manual control.Raptor HD fuel pumpreally theres just too much to list.
The interior is where it could use the most help. Mainly with the seats. They are still the original CUCV seats and ugly as sin. I never really finished the dash either. I kind of liked the way it looks. I also have a cross over steering kit to go with the truck too.
Iwant $13,000 for this truck. No less. Don't bother asking for less the answer will be no. This is my no Haggle no BS price. Please don't waste my time if you are not seriously interested.
There is no body rust to speak of. Its got some surface rust on the frame here and there, (nothing more than surface)but most of the red you see in the undercarriage is Virginia clay from4 wheeling. Its a pain to get off all the way.
