Description

You are looking at an original Los Punk Rods kustom '57 Bel Air. Los Punk Rods have been putting on the famous Greaserama kustom car show for 17 years. We are proud of the fact that we are the biggest kustom show in the midwest and this car has been a part of Greserama from the beginning. Todd Karnahan, the original president of our club loved the fact that this car had an hydrogen generator (more on that below) that worked! It has 2" drop spindles in the front and lowering blocks in the rear with air shocks so you can drive it without scraping the bottom. Though the engine bay is nor beautiful and pristine, I have done extensive engine work to make this car a daily driver. I rebuilt the original 283 engine with new heads three years ago. It has roughly 3,000 miles on it. The engine will last for ever! It has an Edelbrock Performer intake with a 550 CFM carburetor. The exhaust has been updated to dual exhaust with new headers. I have upgraded the brakes to power disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear with updated brake booster and master cylinder. It has the original 2 speed powerglide that I have had zero issues with. I do add transmission oil at least twice a year since I flushed the transmission about 7 years ago. I still have all the original engine parts if you wish to have them for originality. The interior has original door panels, carpet, seat covers, paint, dash and head liner. Because the interior is 60 years old, it does show signs of wear. However, I get many compliments on how good the interior looks. I have included pictures of the few spots that are cosmetically in poor shape. I like the look because it has added to the overall coolness factor of this car. It is defiantly a head turner. Either from the rumble of the glass pack mufflers or the shinny blue paint. There is no rust on this car except for some surface pitting on a couple spots of the original chrome (I have pictures) and a spot on the rear interior door jam that has been there for over 20 years, no need to touch it. I have done much of the body work over the years in our shop. It has new paint as well. Now about the hydrogen generator. When gas prices went up I started building and selling hydrogen generators. I was very successful in these gas savors. However, as fuel prices went down so did the desire to save gas. This generator still works but I have disconnected it from the intake and have also taken out the generator meter. It is a simple process to reconnect and I will include the instruction manual if you're interested. This Bel Air is a solid car all around. You can drive it home or trailer it. I will not ship it. Sorry. You are welcome to pick it up. If you want any specific pictures, please let me know. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. By the way, the club plaque in the rear window is not included.Oh and the air horns do play La Cucuracha!
