1953 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck-Very dependable and fun!
Description
This one is a Dandy! Not a Show Truck...but one that you can be proud of and enjoy.
A rare 1953 Chevy pickup that I would not be afraid to drive anywhere!Starts easy, runs strong, and gets tons of waves and smiles when I take it to town.
Updated, period correct 235 6 cylinder. Great compression, plenty of torque. I was told this came out of a 1953 Corvette. The numbers on the lower block are hard to read because they are behind the starter..but they look like CCNC then there is a gap- then E 241. On the upper part the engine on the head the numbers are 3836848. All I know is this motor runs strong!
Transmission is the standard 3 speed on the column, or ' 3 on the tree'. NO issues at all, shifts very smoothly.
Body isamazingly solid and straight for a 63 year old pickup truck. All metal. I have to believe that the running boards were replaced with NOS original GM equipment at some point...there just in incredible condition. There are a few minor bumps andscratches, and the paint shows well but is not an expensive paint job. I took pictures of the inner fenders just to show how solid this truck is. Most have rust between the inner fenders and the lower cab area....no rust here.
Wonderful-Rare Accessories! A true FULTON Visor, A period correct side mounted spare with the correct rear fender for that side mount. I had a Royals Baseball fan tell me the visor looked like a ball cap, and since it was blue, he thought it would look cool with baseball art on the side-mount spare.
Original Rimsare available if you want to go back to that original look. I have 4, they are in great condition, but would need to be sandblasted, painted and need new tires. IF you want these as part of the deal, please let me know before you bid.
Other items. The glass on the drivers side is cracked...see pix, but would be an easy fix at your local glass shop. The bed wood is brand new, The lights work great, the gauges work and the the front end is tight, not floppy and wore out like some of these old trucks. Again...it's not a perfect show truck, but you can enjoy it as is or make it your own.
Clean Title.
I reserve the right to market the truck here at home and close the auction early. Please clear it with the wife and have the funds secured before you bid. Send your professional inspectors or better yet, come drive it yourself!
I have tried to describe this vehicle as best as possible. Originally purchased for my wife. We have decided to sell it so she can finish her Masters degree.
