Description
Excellent Original Bel Air Deluxe Hardtop. History and condition indicates that vehicle spent 1st 43 years of life in Texas. Bought by collector and enthuisist in 1994 and returned to Wisconsin where he enjoyed and took care of for the next 22 years. Over that time he rebuilt original drivetrain and repainted car in original color,(Black) in late ninties. Underside retains original factory undercoating and shows no sign of deterioration or rust which again is a testament to it's long life in Texas and care by owners. No sign of any body repair or prior damage. Car was enjoyed with several trips to local and midwestern VCCA meets and won several awards including at least one Senior Award. Very well equipt vehicle with most of Chevrolet options available in 1951. This was the 2nd year of the Bel Air and only available in the Hardtop. Was also the 2nd year of the optional Powerglide which included the 235 Cu In engine as opposed to the 216 in standard shift models. Powerglide only available in the deluxe series. Car looks excellent, Stainless is sharp, Chrome is nice, front and rear bumpers have been rechromed. Some of the rare options include the front and rear bumper gards, bumper ends on rear, front and rear gravel shields, impala hood badge(gold), original radio works and has AM-FM conversion, spotlight with mirror, back-up lites, and many others as seen in photos. Car runs excellent, uses no oil, and does not smoke. Execellent example of rare Stock(less then 10% total chevy production in 1951) Model. and appreciating in value.
