1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe: * 1963 marked a big year for Corvette. The second generation, or C2 body style was released with significant style changes and performance enhancements. Chevrolet launched the now infamous Sting Ray name, attaching to the first ever offered Corvette coupe, and for the first, and only time in their history, offered the coupe with a split rear window configuration. The hidden taillights and tapered rear deck provided an all new look for the sports car, giving America another reason to fall in love with Corvette all over again. This Sting Ray, with only 55,000 actual miles, is a complete matching numbers car and has previously undergone a no-expense spared complete frame-off restoration which resulted in a NCRS 96.5 Charter Top Flight Award. Driving with its original, matching numbers, 327 V8 pushing 300hp, tied to a manual 4-speed transmission, with a positraction rear-end with a 3.36 ratio, it performs like the day it came off the manufacturing line. The factory original Silver Blue exterior color is complimented by the original color Dark Blue Vinyl interior, offering one of the most attractive color combinations offered in 1963. This Sting Ray was an early build date car that was manufactured in December of 1962 and has all the correct early characteristics like deep floor pans, grained dash, long base mirror and roller gas door.
