Description

For Sale: 1927 Chevrolet 'Capitol' 4 door. Museum quality original survivor. Original numbers matching 171 cubic inch 4 cylinder motor runs nicely, factory 3 speed transmission, original disc wheels, 5 new period correct whitewall tires, original 90 year old interior in excellent condition, original wood steering wheel, lights & gauges work, original 6 volt electrical, nice grey paint with black fenders, zero rust, no known damage or rust repair ever, glass excellent, good chrome bumpers, original owners manual, 66,000 miles, original 1927 Iowa license plates, in nice condition. Note: this car is not restored, it is an original 'survivor'- the rarest type of car and in incredible condition for being 90 years old. The car was professionally repainted at some point 30 or so years ago in original greycolors with black fenders. Frame in excellent condition. This is an original survivor, and has been in a private collection . I am listing this car for a friend. This car has been obviously stored indoors its entire life. It has been stored in a heated climate controlled building for the past 17 years that I have been its' caretaker. I have periodically washed & waxed the car, there is no visible rust nor known rust repair. There are some minor scratches on its 30+ year old paint, but overall the paint is in excellent condition and shines. The chrome bumpers are in excellent condition. The nickel plating is thin in some areas and shows age, but is still very presentable. The original 90 year old interior is in excellent condition, one minor wear spot on drivers seat leftshoulder area. The car drives and stops nicely. The engine ran well the last time it was driven. The car has been in long term storage for several years- the engine was "fogged" with oil the last time it was run at shut down time. Again, this is a museum quality non modifiedoriginal survivor, not a restored classic. It has been described as honestly as possible and to the best of my ability. There is no warranty express or implied on this 90 year old car, it is being sold "as is". I am listing this car for a friend- a 500 dollar deposit will be necessary within 24 hours of the successful purchaser, and final payment funds will be required either by cash or certified cashiers check. NO TRADES. A clear Iowa title will be provided upon final payment. Shipping is at purchasers expense and risk. It is suggested a trailer be brought & used to transport this car.
