1935 Chevrolet 2-Door Standard Sedan running/driving barn find!
Description
As the title states, I have a very nice 1935 Chevrolet 2-door standard sedan. Car is unbelievably solid inside and out. Originally a West Virginia car(judging by the window sticker) was found in PA, and then made its way to Ohio.

I have owned the car for three or four months now. Since owning it I have; replaced the windshield, rebuilt the carb, rebuilt the ignition system, adjusted the valves, replaced the water pump with a NOS water pump, and replaced the Radiator with a NOS radiator I found. Plus the usual fluid changes. Also replaced the steer tires with brand new tires and tubes from Coker. The rear were on the front and they appear to have been replaced recently, perfect tread, and no dry rot, so I put them on the rear and the new ones up front.
Everything works on the car, windshield wiper, lights, gauges, horn, everything. I had some cooling issues and tire issues when I first bought it, and since sorting everything out, I have around 1000 miles on the car, we drive it everywhere! It rides really nice, and is a blast to drive. It has the original cable operated drum brakes so braking could be better. I have read a bit online about them, and upgraded brake shoe linings and setting up the brakes properly supposidly makes them work great. As the car sits the brakes are the only downfall to the car, but as I have said I still drive it, you just can't expect to stop like a modern car, just cruise around and give yourself space. It cruises right along all day at 55-60mph, but I usually keep it at 50, she really likes 50mph. I have taken it up to Columbus multiple times, and taken my daughter to and from school about 20miles one way, multiplie times with no issues.
As you can see in the photos the car is extremely solid! The underside of the car is very solid, only has surface rust. The only spot of rust on the car that I have found is on the passenger side running board, where the board meets the rear fender, where there used to rubber, it rusted a bit, probably held water there under the rubber. It's hardly noticeable though.
I believe the car is original paint. At some point in the past the hood had been replaced, you can see a faint marking of a pin stripe, and where the black has worn through it is green underneath, as you can see in the photos the hood doesn't quite match, and because of the green underneath that tells me it was replaced at some point.
The wood in the car and doors is extremely solid, the doors shut perfect and the body is very structurally sound.
The biggest problem with the body is the roof. It needs a roof put on in. At some point the car looks to have had something heavy stored on top of it and caved the roof in a bit(see pictures). You can also see that in the past someone had covered the vinyl with roofing tar to attempt to seal it up probably. So between the bad vinyl and broken cross bars, a wood kit and new cover would be best. Or just drive it how it is! All the parts to do the top are available and fairly inexpensive.
Only reason for selling is, I bought this car with intentions on doing a motor swap to something more modern, and switching it to hydraulic brakes, but this thing is so complete so nice, and runs so good I hate to tear it apart and modify it. I also would prefer a pickup, something I can use to haul my antique Harley's around with.
View a couple of videos on YouTube here: one is a walk around of the car, and the other is of me driving the car, cruising at 50mph.
