1985 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 5.0l (305)
Description
Drives and handles well. Car has a salvage title. I am not sure why. My father purchased the car in 1991. He owned and drove it until he passed away in 2010. I inherited it when my mother passed in 2015. I have driven the car occasionally ever since. It has been very dependable. It has new tires with about 2000 miles on them. It also has all four original hubcaps. The turn signals and hazard lights illuminate but do not flash. I think it is probably the relays or the column switch. Either would be an inexpensive repair, especially for a DIYer. The knob on the shift is broken, also an easy fix. The digital display for the radio/cassette player does not work and the radio fades out sometimes. I had the A/C charged with freon last summer and it slowly leaked out over the course of several months. I am not sure when it last had a tune up, but I am sure it could use one. The velour upholstery is in very good condition, particularly for the age of the vehicle. With the exception of the dash, which has some cracks as any car this age would, the interior is in good condition. The front armrests need a little work. The back ones are fine. The door panels are in excellent condition. The headliner was replaced several years ago and is in perfect condition. The carpet is in good overall condition for the car's age, with the driver's side showing wear. The weather stripping for the windows has some cracking due to age. There is a fairly small dent above the trunk lock and a couple very small dings on the car. It is a very solid car. The front driver's side fender trim has a small bad spot. See the photos. I have tried to show any imperfections that I have described. The car has it's original paint and obviously being a 1985 model, could use a paint job. I truly believe that I am offering this car at a very fair price considering it's merits and it's flaws. With an investment of the purchase price and about that much more, I think you would have a car that would be in nearly perfect condition. You can't buy much these days for that amount, and they don't make them like this anymore. With my words and photos, I have described this vehicle as accurately and honestly as I can. It is 32 years old and is being sold as is. Please bid accordingly, as I will not accept a return. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit through PayPal is due within 24 hours of auction's end. The balance is due within 7 days of auction's end and must be in the form of a cashier's check. Buyer is responsible for shipping.
