Description

This is how a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was always supposed to be. The numbers-matching block has gone through a serious performance build to make this American muscle car truly live up to is bold appearance. You know you love the look of these final-year 2nd generation Camaros. The angular body had matured into a seamless and chrome-free design that makes it look even a bit modern today. It only gets better with this car's original factory red resprayed a few years ago so it takes full advantage of the gloss that comes from a modern clear coat (have pictures). It's the perfect backdrop for the earth tone stripes that look like a desert sunset. It still carries all the correct Z/28 features, like the chin spoiler that wraps around to the wheel openings, a proper hood scoop, fender vent, and the ducktail spoiler out back. Of course, the factory blacked-out grille and special version of the rally wheel package lets everyone know this Z/28 really means business. The interior has the same kind of eatrhtones that match the exterior striping package in a very cool and period-correct cloth. This is comfortable for everyone, with a center console, power windows, power lock, cruise control and the original AM/FM/cassette stereo still in the dash. Plus, no one can resist a ride when the T-tops are off. But at its heart, this Camaro is a driver's car. You can easily tell by the B&M performance shifter and the grippy factory steering wheel. There has been a huge investment in time and components to turn the original regulation-choked 350 cubic-inch into the powerful motor we all know it can be. You'll be proud to pop the hood and show off all the polished components like the valve coves, intake, alternator, but beneath that flash is some serious substance. This is now a 355 small-block running 10:1 compression. It's been rebuilt with Corvette aluminum heads, roller rockers & bearings, and a performance camshaft. It inhales deeply through a K&N air filter, Demon four-barrel carburetor, and performance intake. This V8 exhales with authority through long tube headers that give a fierce growl to the dual exhaust. This Camaro makes the most of all its power with a three-speed automatic that's enhanced with a shift kit, and a Positraction rear end that has 4.11 gears for power take offs. Plus, keeping this monster machine a manageable cruiser is the power steering and front disc brakes.Complete with owner's manual, this is one '81 Z/28 that really has the power to back up its aggressive appearance. No one expects true performance like this from these good-looking coupes, so it will be tough to find a better sleeper-style classic for under $20K. Call today!!!
