Description

Vehicle located in Alexandria, VA. $5000 is an insane price for it, given the work that's been done. But I need it gone.
Up for grabs is my 1986 Corvette coupe. Auto trans. Removable glass top. Doesn't need much of anything. Red paint, red interior, black seats. 160,xxx miles but less than 100 miles on freshly rebuilt 350 (details below.) Has factory Z51 package (upgraded springs, shocks, steering cooler, quick ratio steering, rear diff.) Title is in hand. Vehicle was in two minor accidents (both around the front headlight area, both professionally repaired.) $5000 is my asking price, and it's firm.
I've got proof of purchase for almost all of this and have done the work myself (I work on cars for a living) - when you purchase this vehicle, you can also obviously have all of the receipts I've collected over the years.
New: Long block w/roller components (cam, lifters, rockers) - rebuilt by a local machine shop here in Northern VA, like new. New ignition components (distributor, coil, rotor, cap, plugs, wires, etc.) Edelbrock heads. All 8 fuel injectors have been replaced w/upgraded generation III bosch injectors. New fuel pump, fuel filter. Alternator has been upgraded to a stronger 105A unit. Battery is an Optima red top, about 3 years old. Starter is new. Doesn't leak a drop of anything. New high-flow water pump went in with the motor. New power steering lines. Both front wheel hubs have been replaced, the ABS wheel speed sensor at the right rear wheel has been replaced. New u-joints in rear axleshafts (this is a common problem on c4 corvettes.) Vehicle has borla mufflers w/rectangular tips. Sounds beautiful. Probably forgetting plenty of other new parts.
The interior is brand new. New door panels, new dash panels, carpeting (the carpeting on one side of the loadspace is torn up from a spill - easily replaceable if you want to go that route.) While the carpet was out, dynamat went all over the car to cut out heat/noise. Has a Pioneer AppRadio (nav, iPhone enabled etc) and four new speakers. I rebuilt the instrument cluster with new, easier to see LCD's and a blue overlay (again, also a common problem with c4s.) The interior lights are LED's. Floormats are brand new as is the mat in the cargo area. Weatherstripping is brand new. Will very occasionally leak a couple of drops of water, as all C4's do.
The exterior is an 8.5/10. Has a couple of scuffs on the top of the front bumper from where someone backed into me lightly. From a couple of feet away, the vehicle looks perfect.
I have $15,000 or so in receipts for the car. Only selling it because a) I have an '89 and b) I no longer have a garage to keep it in.
Vehicle runs and drives well enough. One of the more powerful c4's I've driven - chirps the tires going into second and even third gear occasionally. Only known issues - it idles rough at the moment, don't have the time or interest to figure out why - could be something as simple as a vacuum line. Would almost certainly still pass inspection as-is. Doesn't turn the check engine light on. It's been in a couple of minor fender-benders since I've owned it - a deer took out the RH headlight (which has been replaced obviously) and the rear bumper was replaced several years back after someone backed into me while parallel parking. After the headlight repair, the insurance company declared it a total loss (this shows up on a carfax) but the title is clear - this is not a salvage vehicle. Clear title in hand.
$500 deposit due upon purchase. Non-refundable, vehicle is obviously sold as-is. I am willing to work with your car shipper if you want to have the vehicle delivered, or obviously you can meet me at the car's location and pick it up in person.
