A wonderful 1963 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside pickup is being offered for auction. Owned by the current owner since 2008 and acquired from a California seller.Very nice condition and used regularly.
I purchased this truck just prior to moving into a new home and it was used virtually every weekend for trips to Home Depot and Lowe’s picking up everything needed for a new home and yard.As my projects began to be completed, I found that I was using it less and less so I have now decided to sell it.
The truck was in very good condition when I acquired it so nothing needed to immediately be done. The battery was eventually replaced, as one would expect, and I installed a modern radio (designed to look like a period radio) in 2012.I have retained the non-working original radio and will include it in the sale.In 2013 I installed all new brakes and brake lines. In 2014 the original seat covering was on its last legs and I replaced it with the new covering shown in the photos.
The engine runs very well, never giving me any problems. The current indicated mileage is 74,570. I have only added 2,200 miles in the 10 years that I have owned it.
The truck has been repainted in the past and the paint is in good condition. If the painted inside of the doors originally matched the exterior color, then the original color wasbronze. There are a few places where there is some surface rust, but otherwise this is a very solid body.Problem areas are shown in the photos.
I purchased seat belts and a new radio antenna but never had the chance to install them. They are included with the sale.
My attitude in making repairs to this truck has been to make it better instead of attempting to make it original.I replaced instead of restored the radio. I upgraded the interior to really make it pop instead of replacing it with the original cloth (which is still available).I did not buy this truck to look at it, I bought it to use.
I own many cars, including collectible sports cars. Not one of my vehicles has ever gotten the attention that this truck gets. I am constantly receiving honks and thumbs up as I drive it. Once parked at a store, especially a place like Home Depot where other car lovers might visit, I frequently spend 15 minutes showing it off to other shoppers before I can get into the store. There is something about this truck that puts a smile on everyone’s face when they see it.
The Hula Girl is included, at no extra charge. Will mail video for further views of the truck and to listen to the engine run on request.
