1969 CORVAIR MONZA
Up for your consideration is this extremely nice and original low mileage 1969 Corvair Monza VIN # 105379W701934. This Monza is equipped with GM’s 110 HP horizontally opposed 6-cylinder motor mated to a 2 speed automatic Power Glide transmission.
This car is very sharp and gets attention everywhere you take it. The paint color is Fathom Green with Green interior. This Monza is in great condition with only 37,400 actual original miles traveled since 1969. Something about an original car just drives better. This car looks, runs and drives fantastic.
Here is a little background on the car.
This vehicle was originally sold through Quality Chevrolet in Monroe, NC. The original owner lived in Detroit, but bought the car from Quality because his brother owned the dealership. In fact, when he retired, he actually picked the car up in North Carolina on his move to Florida, trading in his '65 Monza. When he died in 1985, his favorite niece back in North Carolina inherited the car. She went into his garage, took seven blankets off the car and had it professionally transported back to her home. The car was sold shortly thereafter when she realized keeping it would be impractical as she was nearing retirement herself and would be moving to a smaller place with limited garage space. The car had 29,000 miles on it at that point. The steering column cover and four bucket seat hinge covers have been repainted - they were originally black. Also, a warranty repair order from 1969 shows that the left door arm rest was replaced because - you guessed it - the paint was peeling off leaving black areas exposed. As plentiful as green interiors were on '69's, it appears there were spot shortages on some interior items, at least when this car was assembled in October, '68.
The car also had 1 repaint in 1988 and it earned Senior Division in Concours in 1994.
Everything on this car operates as it should and the car runs better than any I’ve been in.
This car was part of a long-time Corvair collectors stock out of North Carolina. He has recently had some health issues and has decided to make this car and few other special Corvairs available to the public.
Please take a close look at the many current pictures taken 10/19/17 and feel free to ask all the questions you wish.
Some late model cars or trucks may be considered as trade toward this car.
This Corvair is being sold by a good friend of mine that has asked for my computer assistance listing it on eBay. For a full detailed description or any questions, please feel free to call Jerry at 864-934-6358 and I’m sure he’ll be more than happy to help.
