SUPER SHARP, eye grabbing, all #'s matching 1968 Camaro RS 327 for sale with a Cowl Induction hood and rear spoiler (original hood and trunk inc.), accompanied with stock original wheels and hubcaps.
This Camaro was purchased new in 1968, and kept only a year until it was sold to a gentleman from Connecticut in 1969, of whom kept this vehicle in excellent running order and original until he sold the car in 2011 to the cars 3rd owner; from there the car received a complete restoration on body and paint, adding the Cowl hood and spoiler at the time to suit his taste.
The interior is stock original in excellent condition. The original AM radio sits proudly in the dash, however does not turn on- we didn't diagnose the cause. We did replace the Astro Vents in the dash though, as the originals were flaking the "chrome" finish; we did this to bring the interior to a matching level of quality.
The body, floor, and engine bay are in remarkable condition. Paint is very bright with a nice even texture throughout the body, with an exception of a few small "fish eyes" that are only noticeable at certain angles of light refraction. All chrome trim and accents are in excellent condition. Glass is good, not perfect- there are few hairline scratches on side glass and windshield, you have to put an effort in finding them though, they don't stand out at all. All window, door, and trunk seals are new and fit flawless. All latches, locks, hinges etc, work perfect, just like new.
Engine is a stock, original #'s matching 327 / 275 hp L30 with an upgraded ignition. It starts easy, sounds very healthy and runs like a Rolex with absolutely zero internal noises.
Transmission is a stock #'s matching 2 speed Powerglide, goes into gear smoothly and shifts perfect.
Body tag indicates paint code -- which does not designate the original color scheme, however at the last of the photos are a couple of pictures of the vehicle in its original state in 2011 before its restoration to this beautiful bright white.
Driving the car is equally impressive and on par with the rest of the cars quality; very tight and responsive, rattle free, and the stock original drum brakes work excellent.
The infamous RS hideaway headlights are quality aftermarket electric units to replace the troublesome vacuum system it originally had; they open and close perfect the way they should.
This is a turnkey car that can truly be enjoyed as a legitimate survivor, extraordinary driver, show piece and timeless investment.
Also comes with original owners manual, bill of sale from 1969, warranty booklet, protecto plate, and original hood and trunk.
