Description

Running and driving 62 Biscayne. Was originally ordered by Oregon State as a trooper patrol car. Was originally equipped with a 327/300hp and a 3 speed on the column. Motor and trans are long gone. I have copy of original title and registration showing that it was a cop car. Also notice very strange data tag. Both color and trim are not normal, and I haven't been able to figure out exactly what they were. I believe color is very close to original color though. I have found picture of a 61 Oregon trooper car and it was this color blue.

Body: Was restored by previous owner in OR about 15 years ago. Body appears to have been stripped down to bare metal and repainted. Quality is driver and looks very good. Panels line up decent but rs door is a bit misaligned. Paint shines. Looks to be a enamel base/clear finish.Windows and all trim removed for restore. New window seals, and weatherstriping added when reassembled. Once this was completed car was stored in a garage as a roller and sat until 3 years ago. Bodywork is decent but not perfect. There are scuffs and blemishes throughout but it presents itself well. This was a solid west coast car to begin with. Floors and trunk are original and rock solid. Quarters appear to have been patched around lowerwheel well. Only patch I have found. Metal work done very well.

Engine/trans: 3 years ago car was brought out of storage and rebuilt 4 bolt main 350 with 202/270 fuelie heads was fully rebuilt and installed in car.All new components added including carb, intake, alternator, headers, Hi torque mini starter, rebuilt 4 core radiator etc. Built to run in traffic on hot Oregon summer days. Rebuilt Muncie M21 close ratio transmission was bought and installed with new clutch. Engine has been determined to be in the 300-400 hp range. Runs very well. Very strong and powerful. Engine/trans have roughly 4000 miles on them. I purchased car with all of this done .

Interior: Seats striped and treated then covered in new foam and original style seat covers. New door cards and front/rear seat belts added. New original 62 4 speedstylehurst shifter added with ball.

I made the following upgrades in the last 200 miles:

I fully rebuilt original front end. All new original style rubber bushings, All new ball joints, tie rods, springs, shocks, idler etc. I also added upper ball joint spacers for launch lift--an old Jr. Stocker trick to get better traction to rear wheels.

I added front drilled disc brakes and changed all lines/hoses and went with dual circuit master cylinder. Rear brakes are all new Torino drums. Stops very well. Much better than the stock brakes.

I added a brand new Quick performance 9" Ford rear with 3:70 gears, hardened axles, drain plug and jack support. I had rear narrowed a total of 2 inches to fit big meat in the wheel wells. All new drive shafts with added slip joint balanced to car. Also added new heavy duty urethane center support bearing. This setup is good for around 600hp. More than tough enough for this car.

New 5" wide torque thrust front wheels with redline skinny bias ply tires. Rear wheels are modified 8" steel GM wheels that have been painted black. New BF Goodrich radial meats in back.

Car is a nice driver that's especially fun in a straight line. Still needs some minor tinkering that I didn't feel necessary to complete. Wiper motor not working--not sure if it is just not hooked up. Speedometer cable still original and needs an extension to mate up with m21. Heater core brand new but none of the cables have been hooked up. That's about all I can see, but may be a few other minor items. Glass is good with the exception of the vent windows--they have a couple of bubbles.

I have a huge pile of receipts for most items. Have spent way more than 25,000 on this car. Time for a new owner. Considering partial trades + cash (trading down) for very clean all original 2 dr, or wagon pre1965 Chevys.
