This Malibu was manufactured in Kansas City Missouri and Delivered new in Minnesota. This is a prime example of a 1971 Malibu Chevelle SS.New emissions standards really hindered the sport performance class of car makers. This was true for GM who had to limit certain aspects of the engines they were aloud to release with the Chevelle. It just so happened that the 454 Tubo Jet engine was an option that passed all the tests and was available as a powerplant. The body styling was changed a bit from years before but nothing major occurred at this time. The SS package was normally saved for the 350ci engine but the 454 could be put in with any option if the pocketbook allowed. Though many obstacles occurred back in 1971, Chevy did an amazing job releasing a car that would stand the test of time. This beautifully restored example will show just how Chevy persevered. This SS is just waiting to put down a couple stripes on the asphalt.
